  1. who said we go for the average joe pet alsation, not being funny mate but its the same with every breeding you pick the very best of the breed and mate with that, which has been tried and tested for its attributes. you pick the very best from working stock. so your saying a greyhound can lamp all night. a greyhound will stick it when the going gets tough, a greyhound brings intelligace to the field, has a solid bone make up so if it falls it can get back up. a greyhound has bottle dont think so any dog can run a couple of hares big deal were talking about maybe a good 3 hours day work or maybe
  2. Yeah theyre shite on charlie he done well there mate, there's not a mark on him to.
  3. could'nt be better put wilf.a local coursing spot of mine has been ruined by dickheads, walking the land mob handed killing summer hares.they get lifted every time they go out.some of the so called big names round my area are the worst culprits, fifty odd year old blokes who should know better.f**king pathetic men..
  4. paying top money for the right blood is only part of the job, there's so much more that goes into the making of a class worker than just buying a well bred pup.i've seen plenty match bred saplings ruined by crap dog men. just to ad i paid 350 years ago for an import blood saluki pup,dog could'nt kill a hare in a phone box.my best ever dog was bought for the princley sum of quid..
  5. never .?????..road work will help minimise srcubbed pads ....but it wont stop wrist injuries or stoppers getting ripped ....or worse ....i so a bad injury last year on hard ground 4 month off for the dog ........ I can honestly say I've never had a serious injury on hard ground...we ran some pretty inhospitable bits too....with big divots made by tractors on old factory ground, flinty etc.....all the stopper injuries I've had have been caused by broken glass. As for wrists again the worst one was cause by stumbling on a rabbit burrow on sandy ground you must have just had a bit of l
  6. would have to agree with you there whin.unless your doing plenty fox, forget the bull blood.3/4 grey collie is a good choice.i had one as my first lurcher when i was 13.intelligent,piss easy to handle and fast enough for anything.
  7. mid winter, but saying that,it all depends on how often they're getting run.some places are dogged to death and the hares are flying right from the word go.just my opinion
  8. just use a normal charger with the crocodile clips.
  9. the vet is correct and yes they are talking shit.i know of a dog that broke its leg as a youngster and went on to make a good name for its self in the coursing field.have faith
  10. true that.av seen some quality bred pups ruined by clueless tossers and there's plenty of em out there unfortunately.
  11. them rabbits must be pretty tame to put the lamp on and still kill 10 rabbits in the same feild were i go you are lucky to get 5 runs in the same feild it aint impossible, seen mates take 13 on the trot off one field.maybe its a good dog..
  12. sounds like a knocked up toe to me.would'nt bother with the vet,lay the dog up for a few week then gradually build up with some light road work.you'll have to be patient.if you gallop the dog too soon you'll be back to square one.
  13. since when does fat turn to muscle?fat is fat muscle is muscle, they dont change from one to the other.
  14. unless your bang into the foxing job,i would'nt bother with a bull x.they are nowt special in my eyes.its all fashion and macho image.
  15. try to keep calm as the pup will sense any tension in you which will make matters worse.kneel down and turn your back on the pup when he comes trotting in with his toy, this will spark his curiosity.dont stare directly at him as this can sometimes get them going the other way,not good.when the pup comes in,dont snatch the toy off him, just put your hand under his chest and give him praise.if he thinks your going to nick his toy straight away he wont be happy .just keep things nice calm and keep at it.he sounds like he's carrying well so your half way there pal.
  16. remember to milk those doe's lads,it will taste great on your farleys.
  17. well said roly, its full of gobshites on here.they seem to go hand in hand with the lurcher game nowadays.
  18. nice bitch that dean.plenty deerhound collie greys about in the eighties, proper allrounders in my eyes.
