  1. I use Paramo kit for mountaineering, and it's top-notch. The pump-membrane system works a treat & keeps you dry as a bone without sweating your knackers off. Most of the military lads I worked with last year on a project use it too, which is good enough for me. The only downside is the fabric may not stand up that well to snagging on thorns etc. (one of my crampons went straight through the Paramo trousers last winter)
  2. Hoverflies, no matter how harmless, still cause me to shit myself. If its yellow & black and flying at me, I'm running off screaming.

    WHO R YOU

in what way andrew? I've always had a thing for hairy bitches...
  5. I used to go rock climbing, amazing for forgetting all about the world, simply because you HAVE to concentrate on what you're doing! Time f'ckin flies aswell!! That's why I love it; nothing else matters apart from getting to the top & avoiding a very splattery death. Good exercise too.
  6. Fresh air, walking, rock climbing, wood carving (strangely theraputic), messing about with cameras, old ska/reggae tunes. Oh, and wanking.

    WHO R YOU

26, broke but don't care, happily with the missus who somehow puts up with me, still prefer the dog though!
  8. Cheers, will strip it down & give it a good lubing, see how it does. I'm trying to find a manual for it too, as I can't for the life of me work out how to adjust the trigger pull (I'm a techno retard...)
  9. I've got an SMK 19-18, and due to money being rather tight, I can't afford to buy something decent at the moment. I'm fed up of the spring clanging like a church bell every time I fire it, and the trigger leaves a hell of a lot to be desired. I was wondering if its worth using the Woodfield tuning kit, upgrading the spring & seals etc, and sticking one of their triggers on it, or should I not bother & carry on saving up for something better in the future? Cheers.
  10. A friend & I are looking for rabbit shooting (airguns) in the West Mids/surrounding area. We are both safe shots, insured, discreet & respectful. Have our own Landy, and are happy to go on foot as well. Thanks, Andy
  11. I got one for xmas a couple of years ago and love it. My normal 'lazy Sunday' recipe is as follows, ideal for chucking on then heading out with the mutt to clear a hangover... Seal 1lb-ish of diced beef/rabbit/vennison in a frying pan with a dab of butter, then use the same pan to soften finely sliced onion & a couple of crushed cloves of garlic. Add a dash of red wine to the pan, heat up & scrape it out with a spatula to get the goodies off it. Dump in the slow cooker, then add a couple of chopped carrotts and some mushrooms. Crumble in an oxo cube, a small pinch of herb de proven
  12. It was a borrowed gun, that's pretty much the only photo of me I've got that doesn't make me look like Sloth from the Goonies. Changed to one of the pooch now anyway
  13. Hi, I joined a few years ago, but things all went a bit Pete Tong for me, ended up moving around the country etc., but am all sorted now and back out doing what I love best. Just thought I'd say hi before I start posting on the forums. I've read through a lot, and look forward to learning from the best (brown-nosing over). Cheers, Andy
  14. Hi folks, I received an electric slow-cooker for Christmas this year, and am after any decent game recipes to try it out with? I've got a brace of rather hefty pheasants hanging at the moment, so would like to use them some way. I know of a few casserole recipes that I could use, but was after something new & hopefully tasty to try out! Cheers, Andy
  15. My sloe gin has turned out exceptionally well this year, a true winter-warmer.
  16. This made me crease up properly :clapper: I've got a 4-week embed with the Navy next year, making a documentary on their anti-piracy efforts. Unfortunately, they are the only ones allowed to be armed
  17. Hi there, I've just signed up and thought I'd say hello. I've not really hunted or shot since I was a very young lad, but received a .22 air rifle for my birthday which I plan to start hunting with again, as well as getting two ferrets that I'm considering working too. Anyway, it's nice to have joined and I hope to learn a lot on here. Thanks, AndyH
