  1. Preferably several thousand volts worth! Every crime is supposed to be treated equally, and if so then he's already made a full confession, and should be charged. But I doubt very much that anything will be done. On the other hand if someone accidentally snared a non target species, they'd likely pull out all the stops to get a conviction. All too often the law is a joke.
  2. You're asking for some stick admitting to killing baby Foxes. You should've waited till it was fully grown!
  3. That's right regarding birds, but it's perfectly legal to use an electronic call for Foxes.

  6. In theory it's a very good idea but as others have said it's illegal, and much harm has been done to native British wildlife by well meaning people. Grey Squirrels, American Mink, and Signal Crayfish being good examples. Moving anything between watercourses and ponds in particular can have devastating effects, Crayfish plague which has decimated the native White Clawed Crayfish is easily spread, and Crassula helmsii (New Zeeland Pygmiweed) are just two examples. The Crassula in particular was and still is being transferred by well meaning people 're stocking' ponds with surplus frogspawn etc
  7. As above, it's not the best time of year for calling, but at any time try not to overdo the calling, dont call too loudly, and try a variety of different sounds. You'd probably be best just sitting out and waiting near to where the stock's been taken. Because Cubs will be starting to need a lot of food now, the adult's will be hunting early, and a bit of detective work through the day should reveal where the Foxes are entering and leaving, then get yourself a good vantage point and go at least an hour before dusk, and wait till at least a couple of hours after dark. Good luck

They will scavenge dead meat. And if they come across some easy meal, like a nest of small rodents or similar I'm sure they wouldn't pass up the oppitunity. Seen Pigs eat fully feathered pigeon chicks that've fallen from nests, and myxi Rabbits that couldn't get away. And they'll also readily eat other weak and sickly Pigs, especially so in intensive units.

Does that include fish too? Pigs will also readily eat meat, and surely there can't be many people (the unwashed, fluffy bunny brigade veggies apart) that don't enjoy a good bacon buttie? Im one of the few that cant eat bacon (bad experience with dodgy bacon as a kid) Hasnt put me off pork though, im very fond of deep fried scotch eggs. Got to feel sorry for you not being able to enjoy a bacon buttie, but at least you're not missing out on some of the other meaty luxuries!

  11. I've used several different cameras, and the two I use most are the Reconyx RC60, and stealthcam prowler HD. The reconyx only takes still photos not video but it has a reaction time of 0.2 secs so I use that for situations where I think the animal will be passing quickly (good for finding out if and when Foxes are passing a certain spot, which can save time sitting waiting ). The photos from this are very good quality, but I'm not sure whether these are available in the UK yet. We got them from USA. The Prowler HD takes video or stills, but the reaction time is a fraction under 4 seconds, so
  12. Just make sure you hide the boots from the cat though!
  13. Though I'm in no way a chelsea fan I was still rooting for them 'cos they're carrying the flag for English football. On the Terry sending off, he was plain stupid , and to then claim that he just 'walked into the back of him' makes it worse. I know he's awaiting trial for alleged racism, but what was he doing, the f***ing nazi goose step? Credit to the Barcelona players too for staying on the pitch to congratulate the Chelsea lads . Good luck for the final.
  14. This is an old one: http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/228711-giant-rat/ And a fake, but nice to see the RSPCA are willing to waste more money investigating the killing of a f***ing Rat!
  15. I looked at your avatar pic and I could only think of 69! Pity all she'd be thinking is "f**k off Kenny ya ugly c**t!!!"............. She's probably too nice a girl to talk with her mouth full :tongue2:

  17. when they knock ask them what percentage of the donation the charity gets, they'll try and make out they're volunteers but they're not....unless they're tin rattlers they're on a commission. They'll have a name tag on with the name of the charity but also the name of the company they work for (probably something fundraising), ask them if that's a profit making organisation (it is!).....give them a grilling about it, I've done it a couple of times and wierdly they always skip my house now Dead right they make a profit! I'm lucky that we live out of the way so very rarely get the door kno

  19. He was a turkish (Anatolian) martyr who was killed by the romans. He was no more English than st Andrew is Scottish ,or st Patrick was Irish.. Only one of the home Nations can boast a native national saint... Some historians believe he was actually a roman soldier, and he was supposedly born in Syria not Turkey, but you just don't like him 'cos of his alleged killing of the dragon! It wasn't the welsh dragon you div! Can you prove it!? :tongue2:

  21. I shoot foxes (and control them and other wild animals using a variety of methods) both to protect my livelihood and because I enjoy it, so I suppose I shoot for sport too. And I think you largely echoe my views when you mention no true sportsman would willingly leave cubs to die in the earth, except I may have worded it slightly differently, as we as shooters/pest controllers all have a responsibility to ensure we do our utmost to reduce the chances of unnecessary suffering.
  22. I wonder how many of the patriotic people celebrating St. georges day realise that he wasn't English and never ever set foot on English soil? And I doubt whether he really killed a dragon!
  23. IMO people who enjoy killing for killings sake are not true sportsmen (and though they're the ones constantly mentioned, it's not solely shooters, though that's not what this thread is about), but I do believe that if vixens and cubs are not dealt with at this time of year, then the problems they can potentially cause are huge. A farmer could lose a lot of income, a keeper could even lose his job. The list could go on, but whether it's safeguarding stock, to keep permission or job, if we're going to kill vixens and cubs it's our duty to do our utmost to see that it's done in the most humane ma
  24. It probably went along the lines: Trevor, I've just seen a bloke shagging one of the cows, and now he wants to see you!!
