i always wanted a pair when i was a kid i used to work at this animal sanctry had a cracker there,i have kept quails in the past japenese,chinese,italian,bobwhites,tuxiedos etc and i did have a pair of red leg patridge i let them go in the fields by me they were on the yampy side

my bullxs hit the cover hard when they are committed they leave a dent in the braken ha ha ha me old beddy used to hit it pretty hard to no brakes ha ha ha

Ive got all the same old gear ive always had 2 new dogs to bring on i have been out myself a couple of time just out of keenness getting the better of me,ive been checking bits of land out seeing weather its worth trying or not seeing whats on it,getting other little bits and bobs ie first aid stuff and that oh and i bought a new pair of arseless moleskins

i dont see why people do things like this leaving carcasses in the field no need for it,no respect for the land and the countryside

i dont see what problem hes got with whippets there ideal little rabbiting dogs lamping ferreting even ratting i cant see how he can say there slow they were an ideal pot filling dog back in the miners days i wouldnt worry about it mate theres always people gona moane about 1 breed of dog or another thats just the way it is

i saw 1 crossed with a whippet years ago a traveller kid was trying to get rid for some reason only a pup like to be honest just looked like a bedlington whippet to me i know some of the irish lads do use them in some of the lurchers make ups, there must be some irsh terriers out there that are being used still

i dont mind dogs hitting cover and i have to agree that it does knock up the catch rate it also shows the drive in the dog,i ahd a dog that ive retired now but he used to hit the cover alot but after 1 to many bangs he threw the towl in on taking the plunge through the hedge

its a 50/50 call but in my opinion there aint many dogs who pull through a broken leg 100% theres always gona be some sort of strain mate,a couple of seasons back me and a pal were out lamping his dog was running the lamp and unfortunatley had an accident i didnt think it was as bad as what it looked turned out it was unfortunatley it was the 1st lamp of the season for her too shame really when it happens too young dogs well any dog for that mater all part and parcell of owning a running dog mate,sorry to here of your loss

in the past ive had pups eat them on the odd occassion but i think it was down to ther dogs being around when they caught it just my theory any way i do feed my dogs on rabbits some times with fur on sometimes with out i just mate sure theyre wormed regulalry and the rabbits are properly gutted and washed out well my dogs aint the best retrievers but they do shock me and do it time to time ha ha ha

3/4 greyhound 1/4 bulls enough for me i dont see the need to put any more greyhound in to be honest mite aswell just have a pure greyhound ive saw some game greyhounds in the past

if there would be a dog that id bring back it would be my dads old deer hound greyhound beast of an animal had some gears on him and had the gameness to match sadly he got poisoned at the age of 5 or 6 i was only a kid at the time RIP MERLIN
