  1. ive had dogs with collie blood in them in the past they are with out a dought 1 of the best working dog you will come across as long as theyve had the right schooling and entered to there quarry properly,my old dog was saluki greyhound x collie greyhound he werent the best dog on fox but hare deer and fox he couldnt be faulted his only down fall was in his younger years he was a pain in the arse and if he got it into his head he wanted to do his own thing he would and time to time he,d come back with a bunnt in his mouth :thumbs:

    be cumin back wi a few doezen,got t keep them fit

    i aint slagging you mate but you want to becareful running them dogs at that age that hard,the black and whites dogs knuckle are still on the big side and trust me mate you aint gona do them any favours for the coming season or seasons but its up to you there your dogs :thumbs:

    shes 9 yr old and retired,i only take her for exerzie as theres that many rabbits,she smashed her back toes 4 yrs ago,and she still loves t run,she only does [bANNED TEXT] she wants t do bud,her pup on the left is only 21,mth and she doin great,only run them hard in winter :D

    i thought they was both pups mate sorry about that nice pair of dog either way :thumbs:

My grandad originally came from carlow in kilkenny an he was mad for bird liming and catching linnets,goldfinches,he would also have the knack of getting sky larks he,d spend hours in the fields watching them when the parents would land from flying they would never land on the nest they drop so many yards away and walk the rest to trick predators as alot of ground nesting birds do. Then he would spring out the grass and the cock or hen lark would strike from the nest revealing where it was if there were chicks in the nest he would put a purse net over the young so the parents could feed them but they couldnt leave the nest then he keep checking now and again until the bird was big enough to be taken away,never met my grandad but i really wish i did he was a proper country man,poacher,dog,birdman etc book of knowledge he did pass alot on to my dad but it would of been great to see him and learn my self from him. :thumbs:

    Shes basicly an half cross mate about 5 generation but she has got staff and whippet in her breeding she was alrite at retriving the odd fox mate :thumbs:

  7. great stuff i love it my mate had a siskin hen that was exactly the same youst to sit on your shoulder in the flight too,she even youst too crawl under the doors fly off and come back i couldnt get me hat on :thumbs:

    I kept blue tits years ago and one afternoon i had forgotten to put the latch on, result being the tits flying away. I left the safety porch open and before long they had come home again! :D They're not daft, they know where the food is... :D

    when i was a nipper i was always bringing birds id found when i was out and about and a bird that always came a cross was baby blue tits at one time i rember my room being full of them in boxes and cage i used to release them when they were fit enough in the garden most the time and guess what theyd end up back in the house when the windows were open my mom would go mad :laugh: bless her

    it all depends on what job you want your dog to do and how good you want it too do the job capiche!!!! horses for corses as they say :thumbs:

     

     

    Deffo bull blood for rats they can take bites alot better than your average lurcher, is that what you mean penda lol

    ha ha ha ha yah know what the funny thing is my old bull cross bitch was an ace ratter :laugh: quicker than any terrier on them dickies dogz off here has got her now and he loves ratting with her.
