  1. one of the best foxing lurchers by me i ever heard of was an alsation greyhound called bonny racey bitch black in colour shes long dead now but she was a legend by me and she would pull deer like they were,nt even there effortless to her ,i heard tales of her pulling 3 fallow in probably less than ten minutes

  2. most collie crosses ive saw work do fence the fox ive saw them get the job done but not in the same way a bull cross would do the job,ive saw that video well the old 1 and the dogs do do the job that is in hand  but i always say you work a dog constantly in that envirament or any envirament they learn hunt it,ive got a half bull greyhound bitch shes got an ace nose and she,ll even go to a point like a pointer its great to watch she marks rabbit warrans as good as any collie or beddy cross and shes true to her mark

  3. well the way I look at it,once the hunting seasons over the dogs are on long term vacation.I bring some of the more sociable ones to the beach,I do a bit of shooting in the hills for rabbits where winter hunting is not possible due to rock and shale. The kelpie comes along as my retriever, then theres the forestry walks, the hill walking and general exploration of new ground for next season.I hunt the feral goat where the kelpie assists in finding any that need finding. The more unsociable are walked in the forestry under strict supervision,I just keep em reasonably fit,but proper hunting is off the agenda till October.

I agree with you there jigsaw i think they need a nice long vaccation keeps them ready for the season

  4. i take my dogs out in the summer months and have the odd bunny but i dont go over the top like some people do in the summer its just the way ive been taught, each to there own but its nice to0 give the dogs some rest too i dont see the point in chasing bunnies flat out on hot nights and hot days blowing the energy out of the dog the end of the day there animals not machines

  5. I used to race wildermeersch, frans van wildermeersch, they are a really good sprint / middle distance bird, very biddable to the widowhood system. £10 each is a bargain price mate, all the best in getting rid of them, someones going to have a bargain.
