Looks like a lovelly female Spar and by looking at the colour of her eyes she been around for a for a while! their eyes are bluey grey when chicks and turn Marigold for the first year and start to orange up before turning a Murderouse Red, "The elfin assasin with thunder in their tallons". Peregrines have dark eyes compared to Hawks, mind you the camera has made these one's look Purple :whistle:...

I had 3 pairs on the go a few years back and sold them like hot cakes for £120 and £50 for Muskets, they finally went up to £180 and £75 before I sold two pairs to a spanish guy and the other pair went to Craig at Falconiformesuk.... £250 is a sensible price these days for the demand, a lad a couple of miles from here will be doing them for this price, but I think Merlins prices have gone way over the top compared to the sport a Sparrowhawk will give you.

Not sure about the Suzuki's Shaman but I would think there is a selector Rod on the side of the Gearbox, Perhaps if you have done any off roading or its took a knock it could well of got bent! the motor would have trouble holding 2WD if this is the case, it could also be the Gear selector in the box itself which probably wouldn't be a cheap job ....

No doubt about it these birds would sell no probs! Andy Reeve down this way was breeding Gabar Goshawks mainly for the exotic Market , to be Honest I never would beleive they would sell aswell as they did!! but he was taking deposits well before eggs was being layed, having said that you could say that about Harris's and Goshawks in the late 's and 90's, the problem now is flying Imprints has opened up the Market for birds that was otherwise considered difficult to fly and breed, subsequently the market gets flooded and prices have dropped....

when you think about it all the Indigenouse species have everything any Falconers should ever need, Goshawks, Sparrowhawks, Peregrines, Merlins and Goldies, all these will suit any of our needs to what ever quarry and land suits the birds flying abilities, Harris's are a cracking Rabbit hawk and certainly mug a good few game birds, but for a flat out tail end chase and bind on a Game bird forget it! they still catch em by following them in or on the rise but sprinters they're not.... I'm not slateing a Harris in anyway as I love the bloody things for their sheer Inteligence and temperament
