    Hawk trap

You have made a cracking job of that Stuntman . I have seen pic's of this design used in other countries but never seen one first hand in the uk. I know a guy who Imported Goshawks from Finland in the late 70's, he told me that the trapper used a method with Homing Pigeons setting traps within a few miles of his cabin, each pigeon was banded a different colour with reference to each trap. basically the Goshawk crashes into the trap and a release mechanism releases the Pigeon, The pigeon would then return back to the loft telling the trapper this particular trap was sprung.... Cheers
  6. I know Mike ! the moths are now settling down for winter in my wallet so I didn't want to disturb them . to be Honest I wasn't sure the battery was any good at first expecially when I opened up some of the plugs and the cells was pretty dry and rusty looking, I stuck it on trickle charge for 24hrs and so far its held charge!! I tested it today and it seems ok which is good news..... Cheers Jasper

  9. cheers all for the replies its much apreciated . I'm now giving up on this Monster!! I have been bringing him in the house in a large open topped box so he gets used to everything and now and again picking him up, everytime anyone picks the bloody thing up it throws a wobbly, it screams in temper the last few times and really goes for it. A lad looked at it yesterday and told me its well over 3 months as its pretty much full grown!! I'm not saying I'm a mamby people but there is no way I'm letting this nut case bite me , its not like a ferret kit which I could probably put up with, this th

  16. I had this sent me a while back and never really read it as I thought something about a Bird Feeder would be Garbige!! after reading it I can now see the comparisons to the shit hole we now live in........ I bought a bird feeder. I hung it on My back porch and filled it with seed. What a beauty of a bird feeder it is as I filled it lovingly with seed. Within a week we had hundreds of birds taking advantage of the continuous flow of free and easily accessible food. But then the birds started building nests in the boards of the patio, above the table, and next to the barbecue. Then

    IF?

same here mate. it kills me when you look at the polls and Labour have something like a 11% lead . Brown comes across whiter than white while in his Honeymoon period but I remember what a a bad Chancelor he was let alone PM, But isn't it typical of the British Public to fall for it as if their memories have gone blank.. Another 5 years of Labour in power will be the final chapter for the UK and life as we know it. I just hope that people see sense before the polls and wake from their comas! Hopefully they'll then remember the shite they've put us through since they have been in power.....
  19. Many thanks for the info Guys the garden is 70 odd feet and the tunnel is set a good 3/4's the way down. its wonderful going out there on a sunday morning and picking some Veg for Sunday dinner , the only thing I would love to do now is be able to rear some livestock for the table such as Pigs. This is the Polly tunnel in action. I made a few listakes one of which I made was not fitting slideing doors and opting to fit doors that open inwards!! because of this the wifes lost alot of growing space, something I'll probably sort out by next summer... Cheers Jasper
  20. No idea mate but its a private house and its staying put now, the local councilor two doors up has one so I'll have to ask him!! mind you he's been round and given advice to the missus about growing stuff and never mentioned it .....
  21. I knocked up a Pollytunnel for the wife last January. it came in kit form from a company called First Tunnels and was all pretty much straight forward. the only problem I had is my Garden is on a pretty severe slope so I needed to level the ground which was a nightmare! it was fine until I got down past the first 12inches and then I was on Sandstone. Anyway I finally managed to level the ground and dig footings for the section plates and away we went, the other problem I had was I had two choices either to dig the Polythene in or use a Baserail and battoning, I chose the baserail ahead of
