It has been a PROVEN fact in both the modern lurcher and to some extent,.the terrier world,..that no matter how much a producer of working dogs is ridiculed,.castigated or shown to be less than realistic in the appraisal of his 'product',...there will ALWAYS be guys that are attracted to such things.     Raw meaty bones and whole carcase feeding is the way that I shall be going ... My wife works in a pet shop,..so,..I have access to all the latest brands of 'complete food' ... However,.if you scan through the various ingredients on the back of the packets, they really do make for enlightening reading I was brought up to feed the dogs on raw food,.then went onto the complete stuff for a few years,..and I must admit,...we survived,...     bit of rope for me through the collar never had any preoblems. @ TOMO.....spot on mate... This business of running dogs off slips,.or of allowing them to walk alongside ya,.has always caused problems for some folk...Each to their own If it works for you,.then its right. The bottom line with lurchers is,.and always will be,. :11: .. You can do what YOU fecking well like,.its entirely up to yourself...Its a free country...     There are a few old time rabbiters that favour a small hedgerow dog over a lurcher. Indeed,.on some of our estates the keepers are dead set against anything that looks remotely lethal and do everything in their power to stop you fetching a running dog along. I've had a few wherriers and suchlike, and obviously,.they are limited in what they can undertake,..but they were useful in certain places.     I've always used the superb poles from the Magnum Trap Co Ltd,.. They were the ORIGINAL suppliers of the plastic wands,... Superb value for money and should last you a lifetime,.. And the owner of this company is a very nice man... :11: :11:

I've owned several Deerhound and Saluki based lurchers that took Fallow Bucks,.and Sika Stags,.it has NOTHING to do with hereditary traits,..but more so with ATTITUDE.....
