The truth of the matter is that very few sellers of field sports equipment,..(apart from a couple of practical trappers and netmasters attempting to suppliment their income, by dealing in products that they have an intimate knowledge of),..have any fecking idea at all as to what they are actualy selling...!!!     Sounds like a nasty old thing BlackBob...(possibly a 220) and most definitely ILLIGAL in the UK.. The BMI Bodygrippers 116,110 and 55 are legal ...As are the Victor ConyBears.. If you get a chance,..take a quick glance at the Spring Traps Approval Order post at the top of this Snaring and Trapping page...Bodygrippers are lethal,..they MUST be used with extreme caution,..or we will end up losing them in the UK...All the best,..CHALKWARREN....

    Started using a trap dye to protect my Mole traps several years ago. The British made 'pressed steel' traps can suffer badly when used in acidic soils. I have found this especialy so when working in coastal areas ,..I suppose its the salt ? Anyway,.the 'Speed Dip' vastly increased the lifespan of my traps.. My main problem was in 'importing' cans of the stuff,..there was all sorts of problems with the Customs and Excise folk,..they frequently asked,." Is Speed Dip' flammable "?...Er,..I think so..
