  1. excellent catch bud, especially this time of year, well done
  2. Good post, but personally I,ve always used my dogs for lamp and day time (ferreting, bushing etc.) and never had a problem. Free rein in the day time, instant return when lamp goes out, thas what I expect and all the dogs I,ve ever trained have responded easily. spot on bud, my lurchers are used for everything, not only a one job tool, as said if the basics are there should be no problem. In the day my lurchers hunt, and at night soon as lamp off come instantly back, good luck to you, but try to open the dogs mind to all forms of hunting
  3. agree with you bud, always give a dog a chance, seen alot of dogs passed on for the reason and known to the other person, but given the chance and sucess of catches to build on confidence, some and only some have become a good dog
  4. each to their own bud, but if you start a dog early then the possibility is they wont catch their choosen quarry
  5. as said could be a handy dog, if the breeding is good, brought on correctly. All the best
  6. touch wood have never had a yapper yet, seen a few with terrier blood in them. But i find if you start them too early or run them doulbed up this will increse them to yap.
  7. good luck with the sale, not a bad price for a working terrier. Again all the best
  8. good old chunk, seen some quality pics of him years ago. Good luck with the sale bud

  10. nice one fh, smashing bitch mate.
  11. we have had one blank night out this season. But usually between 10_15 in a night, then call it a night then go again week after.
  12. spot on caller. Misses playing hell with me no pegs left on the line lol.
  13. just a reminder bud. Camera, nets, and batteries. Lol

  14. cheers JD for the reply. helpful advice.
  15. sorry cant seem to upload pic at the moment
  16. best bitch i ever had in my kennels
  17. as said plenty of going out on the beam some dogs pick it up straight away some take a little longer. I go out with a new dog on a poor night so rabbits dont squat and let him see the bunnies running in the beam around the field, then after a few sessions the dog usually follows the beam, then i start then to walk the dog up to squatters and let the rabbit jump out of his seat so the dog sees it. Practice makes perfect, more outings more experience they will gain. Never doulble up on the lamp, recipe for disaster, and if your dog is retrieving it wont do after doulbling up, 2 dogs pullling on
  18. smashing dogs mate love the little pats.
