    I dont know why they turned like that, as i said they were queen right, i asked a friend of mine his opinion, he has been at it years and he didnt know why and was shocked at the reaction of them.     I know what angry bees are, i picked up a swarm last summer, hived them, for the first 3 weeks they were nice as pie, then for no reason went ballistic. You couldnt do feck all with them, even if you took the crown board off the whole lot would just pile out stinging like crazy, quite scary if your not expecting it. They were queen right too! I killed the lot. and used the brood to help another colony that was struggling to produce a queen. Touch wood so far they are ok, a bit frisky but not too bad and well out of the way of people.     Despite all the trouble I used get into, which was a lot, I did used to go hunting quite a bit, mostly when I was supposed to be at school. Used to ride into school in the mornings, do the registration, then get back on my bike and feck of home, pop my old camo jacket on, grab the spade and dogs and off I went, roaming the local fields. Used to spend all day rabbiting, there were some favourite fields which were rough grass and stingers, loaded with rabbits, the dogs were pretty cute and knew the score, I used beat the stingers out as the dogs surrounded them and nail the escapees.     Yes, the VAT is a huge part of it. On the traps we ship to the UK, VAT would add more to the final cost of the traps than shipping and customs combined.     so the uk version of the wcs tube trap costs about £25 each to make ? i find that a bit hard to believe, but if thats what people want to pay , its up to them, i wouldn,t pay that much As i said i dont know what the markup is, but i wouldnt be suprised if after they have been bought, shipped, customs tax/import duty what have you, that they cost the importer that, yes. edit: slap some VAT on for good luck at 20% too

    50-60% markup is what most business would look to make on retail. I wouldnt take on products to sell if they were any less than 45%, its just bad business and you have to work a fooking lot harder and sell more stuff to make a living. Cause after all thats what people go into business for, to make a living. How much do you think it costs a manufacturer to make a car? Or a gunmaker to make a gun? How much do the retailers sell them for?
