  3. Tried young rook straight from the branches and fresh from the nests,we used to shoot bag fulls years ago being only young back then i used to get the smelly job of debreasting them and cleaning the meat ,but couldnt resist frying some of the meat and making some sarnies while the rest went into pies my old man used to make. :thumbs-up:

  6. I own such a x shes originally gypo bred shes had feathered game as well as the rabbits and longer eared type ,she runs everything in the beam of the lamp and comes straight back ,good with the ferrets and the terrier even has had a few by pushing them into the gate nets but hasnt done that in a while that was good to see her running alongside the rabbits so they had no choice but to go into the nets , has a good nose on her for getting the odd ones i miss,if i walk passed something she,ll just stand and wont move until shes found it .Good little companion really she lets you know when there

  11. Set them a bit further away from the bushes as there a bit cautious ,looking for danger coming from the cover and will be travelling obviously slower, fishaben. Also practice and the heights and size of loops will come to you in time.

Its the same here vincy the column in the local paper says every now and then, fish everywhere you go and catch nothing.Ive seen it say loads of cod caught on one of the local piers on a sat night and theres only been me on there on that night catching only whitings. Its a good boost in bait and tackle sales though for the local shops .

  18. I have to agree if you aint been out in ages try to start back up in the summer its a lot easier with jiggers/rippers in conjunction with lures (muppets ,daylites and big hokais a favourite)for them big cod and ling .Even if you wanted to use bait a couple of boxes of squid and mackerel is a killer bait and mackerel can be caught very easily with a string of feathers during the summer months from the boats sometimes being a pain trying to get through them to get to the bigger stuff.I like the winter myself too off the boats having had some good days in the past but you do get cold ,wet and som
  19. I use both of these lamps and find i tend to take the striker out more often, which is a good lamp once the wiring was sorted afted a short while of being used,Good beam on the lamp even with a filter on.Good lamp for them long fields when the dogs running ,if you dont mind any one seeing you out lamping these are the ones for you. :thumbs-up: On the other hand the clulite is a great little lamp, smaller beam obviously and i use mine when i go on ground for the first time or where i know its a bit hot and the second torch bulb comes in handy too Its not as good as the striker with the filter
