  1. And people wonder why arguements start. My point was that although this could be a reason it is not necessarily the main reason. How do you think black rabbits came about in the first place? In answer to your questions sean I am studying Biology and yes it is the related to albinism in fact it is the complete opposite. To briefly get technical to explain it. Albinism is caused by a lack of a Melanin (a pigment) wheras Melanism is caused by an increase in this pigment. So it is all related to gene mutations at the end of the day. Hope that helps Freddy
  2. Looks like you cleaned it up well. Do you have a before pic then we will realy be able to see what you have done to it. ATB Freddy
  3. No problem air gunner. Happy to help mate. ATB Freddy
  4. No worries Aaron springers can always be a confusing issue. ATB Freddy
  5. You have a point Aaron but technically they can work. It would just change the recoil so you would have to rezero the scope but as long as you always shoot with or without it there should not be too many problems. I used to use shooting sticks with mine but you just have to remember to always use them or don't otherwise the recoil changes and so does your point of impact. ATB Freddy
  6. If you go to the FAQ section up the top of this board then you will find a topic on carriage of air rifles which might help you out and also on the second page is the post you are looking for regarding permission forms. Hope that helps If you have any more questions after reading them both then please feel free to ask. ATB Freddy
  7. I will try and not go into too much detail here as that would involve repeting a large chunk of my degree and having just finished my exams I don't realy want to do thet right now. The black would be simply caused but different genes. These differences would have originally been caused by some form of mutation which could have been caused by many things and not just inbreeding. Its known as Melanism, the same thing that occurs in big cats, (i.e panthers) but can also happen in many other species (including squirrels). Melanism has also been linked to increased immune system functioning wh
  8. Shooting Phantom. Well done on your first bunny. ATB Freddy
  9. I think you have got it there woodchip. Although obvioulsy these are still all opinions. Scuba also has a good point earlier about people not being able to adjust the way we say things so they can be interpreted in the wrong way entirely. I think people often ask questions about things and if they don't like the answer they hear then things kick off. Which seems a bit strange as if they knew the answer why ask? But there we go. I think conclusions are often jumped to due to missinterpretation as scuba mentions but that people dont always take the time to re-read the post to see if it sounds di
  10. Good shooting buster, both with the gun and the camera. Nice set of pics you got there and nice set of bunnies too. ATB Freddy
  11. You might need more than a coat after that one sean. But yes it does indeed. ATB Freddy
  12. Scuba is just making a joke about the fact that a pellet does not travel in a straight line but has a curved trajectory. So if you could get your gun to shoot pellets in a straight line we want to know about it as it would solve the problem of having to adjust your aim depending on your distance from the target. I am sure spike will explain if he comes to help you out. ATB Freddy
  13. Well as i am sure spike will point out straight line is not strictly accurate. But I get your meaning it certainly is nice top put pellets where you want them rather than where they feel like going. ATB Freddy
  14. And I think stealthy has just pointed out the other debate that should have been on you list Scuba. (Although i am sure you will say that there is no debate as there is only one answer right!) ATB Freddy
  15. Cottswood we understand you want to get involved and if after reading the old posts ont he topic you have something that has not already been said then fine but if it is just going to mean repeating things again and again you have to understand that it gets very boring and very annoying. We welcome new opinions as new insight is always good but if it will be someone telling you something now that has already been posted then it is a waste of time and space on the sight. Live discussion is great but not when it is the same people saying the same things to answer the same question over and over
  16. Thank you Sean that describes it perfectly. So as was said before you are best of trying them both and seeing what suits you best and what you can group with best at different ranges. ATB Freddy
  17. Hope you get it all sorted mate. Spike should have you sorted in no time. Make sure you get him to show you how to do it rather than just doing it for you then you will be able to do it next time. (I am sure you thought of that but just in case). ATB Freddy
  18. I would have to say no aswell jenksi87 but if you want to know for sure then go ask the guys at the dive centre they will be the ones filling it and they will soon tell you if they will allow it to be filled with breathing air. But even if they did you would not get many usable charges from 183 bar so really is not worth the effort. I would just either use a pump or get a dive bottle which will be much more useful and safer. ATB Freddy
  19. Hold on hold on. Lets just get this sorted. We are trying to help here but currently the question asked is not really understood. We have tried to help. I personaly think that the main job of this forum is to help people new to the sport or people who have been involved for some time but need a question answered. The reason we say it has all been said before is because when the question of .177 or .22 is asked the same things are said. So it is often much more helpful and productive for the person interested to look at old posts as they will get their answers faster and stop raging debates.
  20. Thankyou Michael. That was pretty much what I was saying. You just say it better as always. No one really understands the question you are asking fasthands we can't get our heads around it. We tried to answer what you had asked and were told we were acting like primary school kids. Not a good way to go about getting answers. We are not adding fuel to the fire just trying to answer your question and failing as everytime we give an answer we get told it is wrong or patronizing or not what you are after. Scuba has described it in the only way possible without going into the technicalities of
  21. Not bad davy mate not bad at all. The S410 is holding its own as is the man behind it. ATB Freddy
  22. Don't talk to me about studying. I have just finished my exams and have had enough of it. But I am back home now and looking forward to getting back into the shooting. Now just need to get some new permission. In all fairness fasthands I think scuba's response to your question was perfectly constructive. He explained exactly what the differences are between the .177 and .22 AA S410 and didn't mention the technical differences between the two calibres. You didn't want technical all you wanted was the difference between the two calibre's of an AA S410 and that is what you were given. Aparent
  23. Wise words as always master. You speak truth on the matter at hand. The force is indeed with you. ATB Freddy
  24. Whats your problem ?? the guy asked a straight forward question if you do not want to contribute then keep it shut :wankerzo4: And I suppose you are contributing then iamduvern seems like a very informative post you have there. Not sure calling the kid a :wankerzo4: is really necessary either do you. He had a very legitimate point that questions on .22 or .177 come up way too often and all people would have to do was use the search function and read the old posts. So leave the kid alone. As it now stands the question has been explained better and it is in fact a different que
  25. I don't think he has the supersport anymore airgunner. Think thats why he is after a new rifle. I may be wrong but I get the feeling that he got rid of the supersport a while ago for whatever reason rather than he is wanting to change now. ATB Freddy
