As has been said above the state of the outside of the gun is pretty irrelevant except for the fact that it might not be as pleasing to the eye. As long as there is nothing wrong with the internals you should have no problem. Hope you enjoy it. Freddy

He doesn't appear to have any reason to lie about it. And he doesn't mention anything to do with defecating cows either or flags. I don't realy know what could be causing the increase in power. Is it still high? Could be your chrono that is dodgy i guess. Best bet is to take it to you local gunshop and see if they can test it for you and see what they get. Then they will be able to help you with sorting out the power if it is high aswell. ATB Freddy -
You talking second hand or new for the ultra? As for the .177 or .22 thing I would advise you do a search for it on here as you will find lots and lots of information on it. But at the end of the day it is down to personal preference so try and get the chance to try them both out and see what you like. ATB Freddy

Yeh good idea. Its best never to believe what is written in the stats on a website for an airgun (or most other things for that matter). They will just be the mean max velocity or something that they got under ideal conditions with a certain kind of pellet. So in a hunting situation especially if you don't know what pellet was used in the first place it is a pretty useless piece of information. You can get chrono's pretty cheap. Doesn't have to be a state of the art high tech million pound job. ATB Freddy

Very unlikely for it to shoot with the same fps for every pellet. Would have been 600fps for whatever pellet they tested it with but not necessarily for all pellets. If the fps on an air rifle was the same for every pellet then the light pellets would become redunadant as you would have to set it at 11.5 or so ft/lbs with the heaviest pellet possible in order not to break the legal limit. This would then mean that the lighter pellets are produceing very little power. For example for the heaviest pellet above (penetrators at 20.5gr) 11.5 ft/lbs would be at about a velocity of 502fps. T

I could explain that 1 too but I won't. Maybe there are lots of black rabbits that come out at night and dance around behind us as we are laying in wait but we just never see them. who knows. < rabbits faces ATB Freddy

Sounds like you had a good outing there fasthands. Can't help with the info you need though as i have never owned an S410. I am sure someone will be able to shed some light on it. Interesting about the scope though I will have to remember that if I ever get a new scope. ATB Freddy

Well it had better not be wrong cos I have just spent the best part of this year learning about it. Its just very annoying when someone decides to laugh at you when really they have no idea. I didn't say you directly started an arguement but it is posts like yours speaking down to others on a subject about which you admit youself you know nothing. That is one of the resons arguements start. Pet rabbits are wild rabbits that have been domesticated (same species hence they can breed). They aren't painted they are that colour because of mutations that occured in their genes be they black white or a mix of colours its mainly down to genes at the end of the day. These mutations can arise in the wild and in some cases are beneficial. We just selected rabbits with "nice colours" and

The point is that you might be able to keep it the same if you can keep the recoil the same but that doesn't always work. It might turn out that the difference is negligible, but there will nearly always be some difference in recoil with resting and leaning as the gun will pivot around a different point, and the resistance will be different. dso88 has the right idea zero in your favourite position and then if everything is ok in other positions you are fine might not be spot on but pretty much there. I will try and not write too much of an essay here but its all to do with how springers recoil. When fired a springers muzzle will move upwards first and then down due to movement of the piston pusing the rifle back and then it moving forwards again. So your zero has to account for this. If you hold the gun differently or rest it on a hard surface the recoil is changed. This causes the point of impact to change in relation to the new recoil as when fired the muzzle no longer moves in the same way. So the best way to zero your springer is to do it from your favourite shooting position.

Spot on countryboyo thats can and does happen. I was just pointing out the reasons for the black in the first place but yes this was then used by breeders to create new breeds of rabbit with specific physical traits. So wild black rabbits will be caused by further mutation in the wild population and by breeding with domestic rabbits which already carry the mutated gene. ATB Freddy
