Get a grip ffs, Stevesel you obviously don't like bull x's so what, alot of others do including me, instead of slateing the cross how about writing constructive threads about your own favoured cross...Or go back to finishing school and grow the f**k up, just because you don't like the cross or what they are capable of doesn't give you a right to slag them off.

No, depends what type of bull x you have. My jodie in my signature is 1/4 bull and can catch most qaurry with ease, she wouldn't stand a chance on a daytime hare, she could keep up but not close in but i didn't get her to be an out and out hare retriever. The half cross i owned who died through a major fit at ten month old was also shapeing up well and he could motor, he caught his first daytime bunny 2 weeks before he died, hourses for courses, if everyone liked the same it would be a boring world we lived in.

You have answered that yourself, hound x terrier = speed + tenacity, a staffie is a terrier . The hound gives the staffie more height and speed and the staffie gives the hound more power and pain threshold to kill them nasty rats but still fast enough to catch rabbits. your good you :laugh: i have my moments lol

In my opinion a dog is as clever as you make it, young brains are like sponges, they soak everything up, the more you teach a dog when young the more sense it will have, obviously genes come into play, a bull breed isn't going to be as intelligent as collie say but then what they lack in brain they make up for in other ways.

Being a pedigree or not does not make a dog look fatter, if she looks like the heavy dogs on the chart then she is overweight, why don't you put up a recent pic of her like on the chart? I would also feed the whippet seperate as she is spayed she will eat more than she needs. Once neutered dogs turn their attention to food rather than the opposite sex!! There really is no set amount for dogs to eat, you feed by how your dog looks, this time of year they need less food anyway. HTH.

Wow what can i say, he really does look a different dog, he looks immaculate!! I still reckon theres a touch of saluki in him, but he is in real good condition, credit where credits due he has landed on his feet, well done to all concerned.
