  1. Send his ISP details to IanB, here, Carreg and Jack on smoochers. The names can change but the log in details don't lie...
  2. Like it said, Human Rights are applicable to all not just some. For once I'd actually like Brussells to wade in upto their tits, but don't be surprised if that doesn't go our way either...

Doesn't have to be draconian. I don't think a ticketing system, and compulsory cabinet, would effect legitimate shooters much at all. If the current law was enforced properly I doubt we'd be having this discussion. But it ain't and common sense does always come near government targets. They will be tightening the screws... it's up to us to devise a way to stop it and if that means a slight compromise, based on safety and availability, then I'd accept that rather than see alot of younger, legitimate shooters, penalised for the acts of the criminal.

Given that the average new shooter only takes up the sport for about 6 months it's alot of guns that won't go through the classifieds and get passed around. They don't have to be banned but sensibly regulated. I agree on one point though. I can't see how it will effect the guns already in circulation.
  6. If you want a pre-charged rifle that can go on ticket, have adjustable power and be ace for ratting look for a Ripley Predator. It's the best fun you can have with an air rifle.

If a licencing system was introduced and the shooters were to propose the conditions of the system, instead of waiting for one to be forced on them, would it necessarily mean an increase in age limits? It shouldn't have to. If you can demonstrate that you're worthy of a ticket there is no reason to bang up the age limit. Mark Bonini, killed the toddler Andrew Morton, with an air rifle. He was was 27 so age isn't a factor. It's a fair comment to say that if the police enforced the existing law then they have enough powers. But these don't take into account that mail order and internet s

I tend to agree mate. Those proposals you made are sound, and I'd certainly support them. If the hunting act has taught me one thing is that change is inevitable and I'd rather have these changes on my terms. I used to believe that there was enough power to deal with it but with the boom in Internet and mail order sales the age and suitability factor can't be taken into account. The only problem I can see, with it, is the sheer number of air rifles in circulation. Look what happened to the Brocock ban...

Yes. Don't think they won't do it again. Exercise your rights and vote for a party that doesn't wish to see further gun control. Current favourite is the Conservative party but do your research and speak to your local candidates. Some may be Labour or Lib Dem but also pro-hunt/shoot. They do exist. Join an organisation that fights for shooters rights and actively campaigns on their behalf. BASC are probably the biggest but I'm sure there are several people here that would recommend different ones based on various political/shooting issues. If you're flush join all of them! Als
  12. Fair enough Joe but while you opt out are enemies are not just opting in they're raising money to see more emotional law. These lentil crunching fuckwits are doing everything they can to put us out of business. They want the loopholes closed and they will wait as long as they have to. They're all walking the streets with collection tins while we've still got our heads buried in the sand. Personally I'd like to be able to continue hunting legally. And shooting. And fishing and while these people are so few in numbers they're really well organised and constantly whining to anyone that wi
  13. Makes depressing reading that Joe. It's one thing to not give a shit but try and pull down those that do? f****n hell mate why not just join the League and have done with it?
  14. Your MP is your representation in the House Of Commons. We elect them to make things better for us. If enough of us speak up and tell them that hunting is an issue that matters they will have to fight for us. It's their job. The general lack of interest in the political process has seen this balance swing the other way. Our representatives now tell us what we should be doing and that all boils down to the landslide victories and record low turnout. They are not only biting the hand that feeds them, this hand is building their houses, fuelling their numerous cars and greasing their offs
  15. They can providing it's legal.
  16. The anti MP's are already trying to get those loopholes closed. It's imperative that they're not re-elected. Like it or not Cameron is the best shot we have...
  17. The Air Arms S200 comes in at about £270 for the rifle only. You'll need a scope and mounts for it but the biggest wallet buster will be the charging equipment. Stirrup pumps start at £100ish... This is going to mean one of two things... hang on a couple of months and up your budget. Or you can take a gamble in the second hand market. There are bargains to be had but quality varies right across the board.
  18. Might be worth reading these codes of practice from BASC... Link To BASC's Air Rifle Codes Of Practice Has some handy information for those that aren't sure. The authorities are clamping down on shooting and this information will keep you on the right side of them...

  22. Gav you're sailing a bit close to the wind with some of the comments made on this forum. Not only is it poor sportsmanship it's also highly illegal. The particular species referred to is protected by law regardless of the numbers you're seeing them in. I suggest you read this on DEFRA's General Licence... http://www.defra.gov.uk/wildlife-countrysi...gen-licence.htm It tells you what you can and cannot legally shoot. While you can't be physically stopped shooting the way you do, you can be stopped posting about it so please think before you hit the Add Reply button. Muchas
