  1. if you have any spare time millet, take a look at my youtube channel A Reynolds productions . Or look back through my old threads with links to some of my video's, you wont be disappointed in what you see. the videos are all from this season and well edited. Proper mooching, ferreting stuff. Not any lamping yet, just editing a new lamping film of Lass now aged 12 months.
  2. Thanks Ads, she had a couple more bolters the other day so will be editing them videos soon. I have a few videos to edit for youtube now, so subscribe to receive your alerts for the next instalment. my girl friend is half indian and cooks a fantastic curry. I cant cook to save my life, yet.
  3. hi guys Since updating my laptop to windows 8.1 I cant no longer copy and paste on the forums. This is doing my head in because I would like to show off my NEW ferreting videos I have filmed and uploaded to my youtube account. Can anyone help please. rew
  4. Lass caught her first daytime rabbit the other day ferreting and retrieved it as well. Brandon is over the moon with her, shes now 12 months old.
  5. Aha well vin I want to continue filming especially the lurchers, my only problem is not having the land to film so preferably I will like to film other people and their dogs. Just let me know if you want me to film your dogs.
  6. well done tomo and vin and dogs of course, looks like some rocky ground in that pic, did any rabbits bolt over them rocks. That's the ferreting I prefer, ferret in and rabbits out giving the dogs plenty of runs keeping them busy. I took fly again yesterday for a quick two hours before sun set, warrens far to big for fly to predict which hole they was gona bolt from but she still had a couple runs through woodland but didn't catch antthing. Sounds like a day that would have been good for filming.
  7. I used to run 90 mins during a football game shouting for the ball all match, I was fit and It didn't affect me. I don't know if this is true but apparently Merlin and Eve were yappers. Now I apologise if I am wrong but if It has any truth then these dogs wouldn't have been bred from if it affected them catching.
  8. random I know. mixy might be a big problem as well.
  9. How do you find having a bit of bull in the mix? Has it added to prey drive or stamina etc? When ever I see bull in the breeding of lurchers I never pay them any attention, especially if im after a rabbit, or pot dog but that's my preference. What are your thoughts on adding bull, does it add anything to a lurcher that will be hunting a quantity amount of game night after night. Well done to you and dog again, both of you really do deserve to sit back to look back on your hauls this season. I wonder what your highlights have been? good hunting rew
  10. you ever saw a heavy weight lifter in the gym or on tv scream and shout as he lifts a heavy weight. If it was proven that you use more energy shouting (yapping) then im sure professional weight lifters wouldn't do it. imo
  11. Because its the only action I got from our little mooch, if the dog wouldn't have been there then we wouldn't be eating rabbit curry that night. To be honest it was another way of getting people over to my youtube account that might not have seen any of my other videos before. Just more publicity really, it worked because I got 4 more subscribers over the night. Just need to fix my laptop, I have a 3mins MUSIC VIDEO to upload.
  12. I been thinking about this a lot recently, rabbits are thin on the ground around here so it would be handy to re-populate the areas with a breeding project etc. Now what I was thinking is doing it like the warreners would have done it back in the day. Then distribute these rabbits to other warrens then to be ferreted weeks later. Just like a pheasant shoot would. Has anyone tried this before and could you give me any advice? I do understand 6 rabbits eat as much as 1 sheep, so if I wanted to breed 200 rabbits, how many acres would I need to feed this amount. I know it sounds a rand
  13. Other day I went ferreting at a place I saw healthy numbers of rabbits. When I ferreted this place it was a different story though. Outside the warren I noticed 3 dead rabbits that had been eaten to the bone by buzzards all within 10 yards of each other. I wonder what caused this? One rabbit did bolt from the hedge but the same rabbit didn't head to the warren for safety but headed over a field instead. Why didn't it hop into a hole? I caught the same rabbit and it was also bony. We have a bigger problem though, at the same place they are chucking up a few hundred houses and ever increasin
  14. I don't know why but can't post link. Its a very short clip and a little blurred, fly never fails to please.
  15. Was out ferreting yesterday with fly and my 10 year old sister even tagged along as I was having to look after her whilst our dad was at work, I had lamped this place recently with good numbers of rabbits about, so was expecting a brace or more. To my disappointment I found the remains of three dead rabbits. We did manage to bolt one rabbit but it evaded the nets and exploded the side my sister was watching. Fly wasn't far behind and raced after it, it then came back through the hedge my side and I was able to get this little bit of film. Thanks to fly we didn't blank and It was grea
  16. I like to run a longnet through a hedge and bolt rabbits towards it with dog to help them along. I have set the long net 5yrds out then 5yrds in and so on, like this (vvvvv) along the hedge to prevent the rabbit running between the hedge and the longnet. I haven't used locaters for two seasons and we haven't had to wait for ferrets much either. I don't avoid using pursnets as you can gradually build up the bag by ferreting small sets of up to 10 - 15 holes, it would be pointless sometimes running a longnet around a warren of this size when you are gonna bolt three or less rabbits. If I was t
  17. Why do you lean the peg back TOMO? Does it help tangle the rabbit.
  18. I want one after seeing how cheap they are.
  19. Only if coursing in England was legal you could film some fantastic courses on the fens.
  20. I wear a superdry jacket that is wind proof and light weight, birthday present from my girl friend expecting me not to wear it out hunting, says I don't appreciate anything she buys me. Obviously I do because I wouldn't wear it at all if I didn't use to hunt in it. This winters not been to cold either so you get pretty warm carrying your gear field after field. I also wear hiking trousers which are light weight again and quick drying but don't offer much protection from thorns or barbed wire. Im shit with pockets because I rummage through each pocket, nearly have an heart attack thinking I
  21. I use a 4ft poke net on runs between hedges, I have caught rabbits 15 yrds away from a warren by netting runs as well. This video shows me catching a rabbit on a run, 3 mins in. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ka-kcOa11pM good hunting rew
  22. I'm going to get some pet rabbits and teach my dog to herd them to me. watch this space.
