  1. I haven't got car mate, he's sending it through post. I was thinking of asking you the same
  2. I also like to leave them to figure things out for themselves but I will position mine if it can help. for example when I ferret an hedge I will position her inside an hedge downwind and then stand up wind of a warren and usually I find the rabbits will bolt away from me and towards the dog. As long as they are not on a slip ay .
  3. You cant beat it, my best day last year was on my birthday, went out with no nets and my bitch managed 5 of a hedge and 1 from a field. I was only out for a few hours. I was over the moon. She came close to catching a field one today. Two bolted out the same hole at the same time, why didn't i put nets down. She managed two strikes but each time it dodged out of the way and made it to another warren. Wish we had more open sets like this one.
  4. Im interested in the locater. What one is it?
  5. That's why I don't use collars Not really need to get one for next season. nottzhunter needs to build up his arm strength and I have a slipped disk.
  6. If its a repetitive yap yap yap like a terrier then that that's quite possible but if its the odd one here and there then maybe it wont. A rabbit squealing will do just that anyway. We get 2 - 3 rabbits per field on a good night.
  7. Anyway guys, we'll just have to see how things develop. The bitch is doing well and im sure she will continue to catch rabbits even if she yaps. That's the aim of game after all. It would be great if she didn't but it's never made a difference between the dogs I have saw.
  8. great vid mate, I like how it goes into slow motion as the dog picks the rabbit up. It be good to hear about the dogs being run , breeding etc Was it filmed in one night?
  9. Heres a couple of video clips of my old bitch fly, I was mooching some new ground without nets. Ferreted this warren and look what happens. She's still doing me proud even with three less toes. http://youtu.be/uwEp5tBo7JQ http://youtu.be/xjvdUzXM_Mo Good hunting rew
  10. Whats wrong with the way we ferret and lamp now? I need the criticism obviously so I can be as good as the pro's because ferreting/lamping isn't as simple as looks. I have nothing to hide, neither do I anything to prove. I will happily take on advice and respect other peoples views but I don't have to agree with everything.
  11. Plenty of straw and air ventilation and those are no longer a problem. Its strong enough to sit on so you don't have to worry there either. Its brilliant white so your not gonna step onto it. It has useful handle for easy carrying from place to place and Looks like your about to do some fence painting or are you feeding livestock. Is also light weight, easy to clean and water proof. The lid also becomes a water bowl when the ferrets or dog need a drink. .............So when you finish your tub of protein shake next, give it thought.
  12. Unfortunately we don't have access to miles of moor and dales with enough rabbits to make easy pickings. We have to lamp what is available on the ground around here, we wasn't lamping inside any wood and our aim is to always get the rabbits towards the beam not away, that's something I have learned from Phils video but also from experienced lampers. The only times he had walked towards the dog was when she wasn't coming any closer, you watch till the end and he actually walks away from the dog to encourage her to bring it closer. Its lucky I wasn't filming my own bitch before her damaged f
  13. nice one, lass is around 10 and half month now, the majority of that video was between the age of 9 and 10 month. The night before the last on the vid we lamped a new place, squatters everywhere. So when you get those chances its hard not to go for one more. I have seen a dog on NIGHTHUNTER lamping vid and Phil Lloyd was running a year old dog I think called moocher, meant to be its first night out and it yapped. IMO its not the end of the world and it can be down to both excitement and frustration.
  14. Brilliant video that Jim loved the salmon fishing part, netting them looks a lot of fun , as soon as I get a new motor Im putting in some miles. Are they many blue hares still left on them hills today?
  15. good thread guys, I never thought about stitching a line before. Just shows theres much to learn about this netting game.
  16. thanks norseman I have just realised I have lost some ferreting footage from last week, whilst ferreting a wood , two roe deer came bounding through which is very very rare around these parts. We caught 8 within hour and half aswell. cheers again
  17. thanks breeze, I was probably calling nottzhunter a girl or something along them lines for not grabbing her and so I thought I would show him how its done. Big mistake Cheers honest, I hope you've subscribed to my channel then.
  18. It will fit nicely inside the rucksack so you look just like a normal hiker aswell. My polcat ferret has figured out that she can lift the lid with enough effort so I have to use the bungee cord.
  19. cheers guys I really enjoy it, probably need to spend more time on the editing process. will keep you posted with lass's progress and future films.
