On a discussion about " skill " ...I think Roy Keane would be the first to admit he fell short in the skills department......still some player though

Well in that case the chap needs to learn to quickly walk away from trouble.....theres 2 options in any situation like that......react or dont react......to react you accept it might get messy.....to not react you have to swallow your pride and back down.................you cant have it both ways....he obviously chose the wrong option or he wouldnt be moaning about it now. The fact he got done by a raspberry might indicate the walking away option would be best

How naive !.....for the sake of spending 3 minutes with a copper and answering 2 questions....he actually spent 6 hours with them in an ol bill shop and most probably answered a lot more than 2 questions...... Had he not been an attention seeking twat he would have give his name and address.....with no warrants or what not he,d have been sent on his way............but no. Now lets say he did happen to have something to hide,he could have got away with 2 simple Q & A,s......yet now they are starting to look into his life and what he,s all about......all of a sudden that stolen generator i

Thats all well and good but some folk dont have any option......for some folk simply being around dogs and continuing to have a foot in the door means other people owning their dogs.........not everyone has the luxury of being a hardcore 24/7 365 day a year dog owning huntsman.....some people just have to take what they can get it dont make them any less into dogs

Stop whingeing and just pay it...if you dont like the army leave. Either learn to mutely walk away from trouble or accept sometimes actions have consequences and it dont always go your way,but you cant stand crying about it when it dont.

Oh here we go Fighting " i,ll do it for a caravan " style ...... and fighting as a dedicated pro are 2 completely different things.....name one fighter in this " pedigree " that has ever won a title in the pro ranks ? Cowardly gouging a mans eye out over a bottle of beer is probably something the kid would prefer to keep a lid on not brag about as regards his " breeding " -

Exactly right.....and all he really ended up doing was making a dick of himself.....most folk just want ol bill out of their life as quickly and painlessly as possible, answert their questions,be polite then say goodbye.......this ranting and raving human rights attention seeking bollocks is normally done by folk who have been fortunate enough to never have dealings with them.....everyone else knows the sensible way to play them.

So if somebody wants to walk up to you in the street and start filming you your ok with that are you ?....you cant have it both ways you either accept people can take pictures of what they like or you dont....the fact that if you wrap the camera round his neck meaning YOU get arrested for somebody elses mis doing dont seem right to me...i mean what if you asked him to stop filming you and he said no,what then ? should you have to run away or just allow this person to invade your privacy because he has taken a shine to you..... Your going on about government and corporations before you have re

Being filmed in a public place by police/councils etc for the prevention of crime i can accept........being filmed on a handheld camcorder by some old duffer in a raincoat i dont accept.........now lets just say your mrs is changing your littluns nappy in a crowded shopping centre, you look around and theres some weirdo with a video camera aimed directly at them......your telling me you would be ok with that ? As far as im aware cctv doesnt seek out the innocent......an old boy with a camcorder strapped to his wrist can film wahtever he likes without anyone knowing.....so if the ol bill want t

Are some people that bored that they will go out looking for trouble even when they are not in any........im no fan of ol bill but i accept they have a job to do and its not an easy one....why somebody would make life difficult for themself by not giving their details because of their " human rights " if they think they are doing nothing wrong....is nothing short of pure stupidity... Nobody likes a smart arse and i think them coppers showed a lot of patience....after all, what about the publics human rights....what about my rights to NOT have my picture taken by somebody i dont know while out

Good for you, being a parents not easy...i was a complete f**k up at it but some things we just dont get a second chance at sadly. In my case id already experienced in my own life the dedication and hard work it took to reach a decent level in a different sport, and that was without much natural ability.......my son was the exact opposite, all the talent and ability but no dedication......it just annoyed me at the time but we live and learn.
-
No i doubt it,we was a touch closer to the ring,if you get my drift ....there was a lot of the football crowd up in the cheapo seats id imagine that was who he was crossing the hammers to.....your welcome down here anytime mate. Ive said for a long time now the kids who win Olympic medals are at an instant disadvantage when they turn pro because from the off their careers are scrutinized.....where most lads turn pro quietly and get a bunch of fights behind them before they get any real attention the Olympians have a ton of pressure on them from the off through tv deals etc....the plus si

Sorry chief didnt see that little question.... I like him he,s a good fighter i followed his career for a few years now....personally i dont think he hits hard enough to beat the best but he,s certainly a top level fighter.....his biggest asset ive seen is he has a great attitude to the game and really lives the life and loves the sport....with the ability he has that will take him a long way but i feel his lack of power will prevent him beating the best the division has to offer.
-
I think you just gotta stand back and let them find their feet...let them enjoy the sport they are good at......if and when they start to take it more serious thats the time for you to do the same.....the mistake i made was trying to dedicate my son to the sport before he was ready....as the saying says " you cant do it for them "..... If i had my time again thats how id play it anyway.

Oh i dunno gnasher, remember Bryan Roy or Jason Lee at Forest  Of all the players you could name....Jason Lee was from my manor....as a kid all he had was size,he would win everything in the air and was quite formidable for other kids to play against because of his size and strength......but on the deck yes he wasnt great, didnt help of course when he grew a pineapple on his nut ....but....even he had something that got him to the level he played at,not fancy skills no....but who said ability has to be purely about how good you are with a ball at your feet....you wouldnt call To

I respect your opinion Wilf and i do know from previous posts your not his biggest fan to say the least .....but to say he is not capable or useless,i think your wrong mate..........at the highest level of any sport theres a fine line between ability and performance, you can have all the ability in the world with no performance....but you just cant have consistent good performance with no ability.....now,Carlton Cole didnt reach the very top of his profession by having no ability......at Chelsea Ranieri called him " the best young talent he had ever coached "....now while i accept that is pro

Yep not nice is it mate.....what puts me on even more of a guilt trip is my boy loves the game now he often comes down the Hammers with me.....he only fell out of love with the game for the years i was on his back !!...Id like to think ive made it up to him career wise but thats not the point is it.....certainly a tick in the f**k ups column for me

I like the look of him he looks a good prospect......always worries me with them really tall lads though, everything comes off the jab and if they dont have a really good sharp jab they seem to lose their shape especially when under pressure. Interesting times for the heavyweights been a long time since we,ve had some decent match ups in England. -
Its so easily done mate at all levels.....i made a massive mistake with my son that i,ll always regret....he was a promising footballer as a teenager, signed pro terms with Leyton Orient ( ok not world beaters but he had his foot in the door )....id always wanted to play footie but was crap so found myself living my dreams through him.....got to the point where i was pushing too hard,as a 17 year old he wanted to go out on the lash of a friday and id be drumming it into him to have an early night to be up fresh for tomorrows game...id be trying to steer him away from birds and everything......h

I started playing golf a short while ago....ive had a hole in one and im f****n useless i can just smash the ball a long way thats all,the rest was down to pure luck.....ok i accept a pro golfer is relying less on luck and more on technique......but i have heard it said that within the pro game a hole in one like that is looked on as a bad shot !....simply because bouncing in the hole on the second bounce being a freak occurence, the likelihood is the ball will actually go quite a way past the hole.... For me pure skill has nothing to do with either machinery strength or endurance.....its pu

Firstly im over the moon for Kevin Mitchell he,s a good kid out of the flats who just had too much too early and was brought down to earth with a bang last time out,no excuses but before his last fight his mrs left,he was drinking too much....the loss just totally done the kid in he was totally embarassed especially being at Upton Park.....any kid grown up poor to suddenly have money is a big test, and Kevin failed that test.....but good on him for dedicating himself i was made up for him last night he fought the perfect fight as he was always the better boxer....dont underestimate the part his

Powers one thing....speed is something entirely different............id like to see a Ford Cougar braking from 250 mph to standstill in 10 seconds ! This car kind of puts me in mind of these kids putting a big 4" tailpipe, rollcage and bucket seats on their 1.1 Fiestas ......spose if you like a sheep in wolfs clothing, its great......but 50 odd grand for a bodykit you sure !!

Im no big fan of the lad but in all honesty i,ll be glad if he stays, infact i,ll be glad of any premiership players staying......we got to face it we,re championship level now and although on the last few years form Cole is not premiership quality he,s certainly capable....personally i think he might do well in this league it might be just what a few of our players need for their confidence, not that im thinking its going to be plain sailing, but players like Cole at this stage are likely to be good championship level players. Now im over the initial shock and upset of going down im really look
