Yes but the modern Olympic Games were founded by a Frenchman...............if im not wrong its an official requirement that announcements be given in French first as French is the official language of the IOC ..........hence why its the same at every Olympics.

i was thinking that!!!! surly in 2012 most women will want there own life/job/money etc.... You dont know my daughter lads .........................she has her own life,her own job,and certainly has her own money ...................shes always been a career girl and has done well for herself.......which was why i was so surprised when she announced she was getting married,and particularly into army life !.......but having got to know the lad i can see why and im delighted she has. I honestly couldnt tell you mate im not really up to speed with the amateur scene.....gonetoearth is your man to ask..... The only one ive really taken an interest in is Anthony Joshua as he,s a heavyweight......he,s got a tough start fighting the Cuban who won a world gold medal,he,s the son of Felix Savon someone told me who won 3 Olympic golds so...............but if he can get passed him i think he,s a great chance of a gold.

Just watched the last hour that i missed......how anyone could fail to be impressed by that i dont know i thought it was superb........Seb Coes speech was brilliant " the purity of sport is irressistable ".....what a line that was !!.............great idea with the youngsters lighting the torch taking it off a big strong athlete like Redgrave too.........couldnt fault any of it......apart from the bit with Ali i dont like to see him paraded about like that anymore................but in all i thought it was a fantastic example of all things good about Britain.

Im absolutely gutted i fell asleep just before GB came out .....Would anyone happen to be able to do a link thing to watch the bit where Ali was on.....and the lighting of the torch ? Think the French thing is the same at every Olympics wherever it is so its nothing to get pissed off about its just following tradition.

I dont claim to know much about a lot of the sports in the Olympics.................personally i dont think footie should even be in it ! But for you chaps who follow sport if you had to hazard a guess.... A.....How many golds will GB get ? B.....Where will we place in the overall medals table ? From the little i know id guess at maybe 12 golds.......and place 4th behind 1.Yanks.....2.Chinese.......3.Russians. What yous reckon ?

Its a private house Socks......just happens to be on the fringes of Bulford Barracks.....the army sold them off and the previous owner who was army but now does search and rescue has to be living in the area he is serving....hence the sale........from what we can make out around half the properties are Army folk the other half civvies.......dont know if you ever pass through that way but theres a lot of new developments going up.........shes a smart lass and knows the property game but when its your own home common sense go,s out the window im going down there at the weekend i dread to think w

Totally agree...........years ago a good sparring partner was like gold dust and it was a career within itself of which good money was there to be earned with the right connections,..you would have your own trainer,get good accomodation etc..................i do think its a little sad today where a fella like Harrison who is not far above journeyman can become a millionaire on very limited talent......f**k me its a shame journeymen never made millions in the ,s

With respect ive never seen a perfect dog.....ive seen some damn fine ones..............but ive never met a man who didnt want something more from his dogs or strain.....so to say your dogs lack nothing i find hard to believe.....but hey if they do what you want them to do then great,but normally even those of us that are perfectly happy with our dogs always wish for a little more in some department.......its just the nature of improvement and we all want it.

Absolutely,like i said im not disrespecting the am,s and its a process we all go through nobody walks in off the streets into the pro ring.................what i mean is all the rosettes and ribons in the world are not going to add up to much in the pros and Harrison is the perfect example of that.............because of his Olympic medal his career was scrutinised from day 1 in the pros.....he never went through the undercard fights and was top billing from the off......while that might be great financially it is hurtful to the career of a young fighter as your instantly under the spotlight an

Without wishing to disrespect amateur boxing..............i think Harrison probably did reach his full potential as a pro.......it just so happens he wasnt that good !......I believe a correctly schooled amateur can reach great heights,AS AN AMATEUR.....................but that may mean nothing in the pro game its so vastly different....Harrison being a perfect example.

Fair comment i suppose...... Only that the division is so weak could a fighter like Adamek be rated so high......after all said and done he,s made for Fury being a 35 year old pumped up light heavyweight................but hopefully he gets him out of there impressively and we have 2 top heavyweights battling it out after the brothers fall away.

Audley Harrison is a far better opponent than the 208th rated fighter....and a small taxi driver....................its hard to judge if a fighters improving with every fight when the opposition is so poor.....i dont have a problem with fighters knocking over dead bodies as i understand the game,years ago a fighter wasnt a big name fighter until they had achieved something.....today if your face fits your a name before you,ve done anything.
