  1. The tie was lost in the first leg i thought we did ok last night and gave it a go....with our best player out and a referee who with 2 sendings off and 10 bookings either enjoys being a referee a little bit too much or had totally lost control of the game it was too much of an uphill task....saying that though as peculiar as the ref was the better team went through i thought Alonso just stepped it up at half time and Leverkusen just reigned us back in they are probably the best side in Europe at the moment so no disgrace.

Regards Moyes i do think he'll be gone at the end of the season and while im glad in some ways theres still part of me thinks its a " be careful what you wish for " type of thing....but personally id thank the man and shake his hand on his way out for giving me and my pals a few years like we've never had before.

  2. With the sheer number of cars on the roads today coupled with these ridiculous Smart Motorways something is needed to ensure safety my mrs was hit up the arse on the M1 last year and although not hurt it shook her up......she isnt a nervous type of person but on a live motorway lane between the SOS layby's unable to physically get off the motorway it wasnt a nice situation to be in yet within a few minutes the lane was closed off, traffic officers were there they drove her up to Newport Pagnell services, sat with her until the car arrived, helped her with recovery etc......im not a fan of plod/authority at all but they did a good job and so credit where its due.

Learn to trust the dog mate. They know more than what we do.One of my pet hates has always been blokes trying to send their dogs down holes or encouraging them into cover like they know better than the one with a super sensitive nose on the front of its face.

Sound advice mate appreciated....dont get me wrong he's no super duper purpose bred killing machine he's little more than a general mooching/countryside companion we're like the blind leading the blind half the time but at this stage of life its all good fun

I was born in 76 Gnash, so to be honest the first heavyweight that grabbed my attention was Tyson, I was 9 or 10 when he beat Berbick and still remember it vividly, watched with my dad and brother...I probably got a decent run of it from 85/86 and through the 90s...but by god that 10 years of the Klitckos was awful, would send a glass eye to sleep...I seriously can't remember many of the fights, perhaps Haye beating Valuev only for sheer novelty factor really though...

I watch a lot of old fights on you tube..

Bang on about the light heavyweight division, it's full of real quality fighters, with the 2 standout fighters actually putting it on the line knowing a loss is worth the risk as a win sets up legendary status, no chance with any of the current heavies ..

Bertibiev for me in that main event, what's your thoughts?

Fair play mate you dont have the impressionable sentiment type of thing for Tyson a lot of chaps of your generation have ....im a bit older than you so caught the early Holmes career in my impressionable years and much as i admire his qualities he just didnt have the charisma to get all sentimental about.

Regards the light heavies its not just at world level of course even domestically theres great matches being made.

I'm going Bivol mate....its a mouth watering boxer v puncher thing on paper but when you look at them as individuals they both have so much more than that,Beterbiev i think has underrated skills,a good jab and footwork while Bivol although not a finisher has underrated power.....Bivol at times looks defensively superb but Beterbiev doesnt need a lot of space to generate real power....i think the challenge Beterbiev will have is not getting frustrated if Bivols movement and distance make things difficult....if Bivol can execute a near flawless gameplan and stay resolute to it for 12 rounds i favour him to nick a decision...but Beterbiev has fight ending power to the last bell so who knows.....cracking 50/50 fight though mate eh

if you have a breed of dog that is willing to die for what it wants to do it’s Game it doesn’t have to be a bulldog

I have a little dog here that will chase a ball until his lungs will literally burst....does that make him game ? of course it doesnt......you're just not getting it mate but to be fair most people who havent witnessed it dont.

Is the term Game only acceptable when referring to the bulldog ?

Ive always described gameness like the water level in a jar......some quite low,but its there......some so high you dont think it could carry any more.......then very rarely you come across one thats so high it spills over the edge.

I've got to agree with Mchull that the past 10 years have been marginally better than the previous 10 years...that Klitcscho era seems like a distant bad dream, surely the time between 2004 and 2014 must be the worst in history...

Regards everything else, of course the 70s is head and shoulders above, before my time but I've tried to watch as much of that era as possible .. remember the late 80s and 90s well, and for me that's the best in my lifetime... I don't think any of the current mob would stand with half of the 70s or 90s champions or contenders...

Id say the only era that was possibly worse than todays was the 80's.....beyond Holmes at the start and Tyson at the end it was a terrible decade for heavyweight boxing.....i honestly dont know how the division will ever get back to what it was....what most fans miss about classic heavyweight boxing can now be found in the light heavyweight division that contains genuine stars of the sport with well rounded skills and work rate......the heavyweights at world level will always be the showcase pantomime area of the game but most hardcore boxing folk accept its probably the worst division in boxing for skills and ability etc.

  9. As officers of the highways i think they're entitled to use strong, safe, reliable motors i mean it wouldnt fill you with much confidence if they swung by the hard shoulder to attend your needs and save the day in a Datsun Cherry would it !

They didn’t show it, they had Liverpool on instead mate so I wouldn’t know.

But 2-0 will make for an exciting night……unless they tear us to pieces ! 😂

You just know we'll set up cautiously to still be in the tie with 15 minutes to go.........my bet is we'll concede a first half goal and that plan will go to shit......much as i admire what Moyse has achieved,he certainly doesnt have a plan b and thats where we'll come undone tomorrow i reckon.

And how does that in any way relate to a dog with a few scratches on its nose or a Jack Russell getting smashed about ?

An Apbt taken to the point of no return doesnt succumb to broken bones or cuts and bruises he succumbs to a combination of dehydration/exhaustion ie depleted salts/potassium etc ultimately its hypovolemic shock that pushes him through deaths door.....he doesnt get to that stage without being an extremely fit animal in the first place.

The " gameness " you are referring to is the equivalent to being ironed out in a pub fight and wanting more.

A Jack Russell can be as game as a bulldog or any breed but that doesn’t mean it has the capability of a bulldog or other breeds some people confuse the term game with match or just as good

Without wishing to patronise you as i have respect for gameness in any dog but you are talking nonsense.....to compare the levels of gameness it takes for a terrier to do combat with an opponent who doesnt even want to be there with an Apbt doing combat with an opponent of equal measure is not only wrong it just shows a lack of understanding for what pure gameness actually is......the dog pictured above with a couple of scratches on its nose,or a Jack Russell under ground even.......those dogs cannot be put into the level of physical conditioning it takes to see real gameness you are doing what many people do and mistaking courage for gameness.....they are totally different things.

Essex is lifting with fallow deer, there’s that big group graze at the side of the M25 of an evening and I don’t think that can be too far from you but more than that, head off into North Essex in the wee small hours and I have seen fields with 70 plus beasts stood in there like they don’t have a care in the world.

Further out still, head out overnight to Woburn Abbey area and it’s unbelievable, muntjac just walking about at the side of the lanes, fallow, CWD……brilliant

I know where you mean just near the Bell Common Tunnel im literally minutes from there i can look out the window upstairs and see groups of Fallow across the fields most days,Muntjac as well......The Copped Hall Estate which is old Rod Stewart land is a short walk through the forest for me where we often get groups of Roe as well.

  17. Its generally accepted that the 70's were by far the greatest era in heavyweight history greats like Ali,Foreman,Frazier,Holmes all in their primes with a willingness to fight each other....with " opponent " types like Bonavena,Mathis,Terrell,Quarry,Norton,Ellis,Shavers,Young,Lyle who on any given night would have given all of todays heavies a run for their money.....in terms of " eras " todays in an embarrassment compared to the 70's !....probably even the 90's as well of Holyfield,Lewis,Tyson who all fought each other backed up by decent " opponents " like Bowe,Moorer,Mercer,Foreman,Ruddock,Morrison etc.....todays generation in terms of talent and ability is diabolical but evolution waits for no man and size rules today....bigger is certainly not always better !

Same here mate, only seen red kite twice down here but loads of buzzards, but travel along the M4 and as soon you pass Swindon it's all red kites and less buzzards.. same with those parakeets around London, i remember 20 odd years ago seeing a couple of them at my uncles in Surrey and being fascinated by them, now they are everywhere up there, you see more of them than pigeons! Some animals really prosper kites are certainly one of them, from a few releases and feeding stations to thousands of them...

Them green Parakeets drive me f****n mental screeching little c**ts another bird we've got in abundance round these parts.
