  1. best way to preserve skin's is tanning, but it is expensive and you need a bit of no how, an easy and effective way is to use borax availible at most chemists. put the borax powder on the skin after fleshing it , stretch the skin, leave it to dry[a few day's] job done

  6. right or wrong . i seen my mate shoot and kill with one shot an adult fox touching 20 yards with his standard s200. i'v seen him drop hares and rabbits up to 50 yards with it aswell hare's are very thin skinnied unlike rabbits which are thick skinned little fockers. despite their size hares fall to the gun clealy at range if hit in the right spot my furthest shot on hare with an air rifle[webley raider 22] well lets say it was well over 70 yard's, bit of a fluke shot maybe. but i still connected and the hare dropped.
  7. i would'nt gee any young earth dog up on rabbit's. it is asking for trouble. i know some do , and say no harm is done by it . but personaly i dont like it. start the young un on rats then graduate to feral cats i , then fox ..
  8. yeah wait by the pheasant feeder. or next to a clearing or ride in the wood. look at the ground and up in the trees . if there are a few squirrel's in the wood. it wont be to long till you get your chances of thining em out . i would have a couple of ambush points. and stay in each one for an hour or so . then have a slow stalk around the place . and then head for the next ambush point. stop 'n' start approach work well....
  9. go at first light, squirrel's are not early risers, prefering to come out when the sun get's up a bit.. find a good spot in a clearing ,with good all round views, dig ye self in cameed up make ye self comfortable and wait . as the morning wears on the squizzers will come to you . unaware you are waiting in ambush they are not wary , and offer simple shot's. i have shot double figure squirrel bags doing this , with the odd jay 'n' woodie thrown in for good measure. you could also bait a few spot's and wait. though i have never baited em. i just prefer to sit and wait for em to come to me, t

  15. maggies and especialy jay's should be the highest point scorer. unless you plug em out the bedroom window or drive by . jay's are one of the hardest birds to get under ye belt with an airgun..

  20. i dont do so much digging nowadays. but back in the day we killed most. there was a lot of lads at it back then . all used to kill em . everyone was basically checkin the same spots , so chances were high if you didnt kill it someone you probably knew would we used to let the odd vixen run if we could . but at that time we were using very hard dogs and most foxes were not fit to let go. but we were among the few who let the odd one run on for another day back then all the lad's would tell you they been out and had a do , but all would lie about were they had been get there acti
