maybe it will temp you to put a class on for plummers next year
if there was enough plummers going to the show a would put a class on for them same with whippets
next year will be good enough for me . i will bring my other dogs this year not much chance of winning with them either unless there is a booby prize .
How do you know the dog has killed it maybe the dog has come off it quarry and as you say you cant dig to it to find out or do you just say its killed it because he's a hard dog.
wwireviz of this site had a dog that would kill every fox it could get to. bar none. it took us a season to figure out what was going on as the dog rarely got badly damaged in its first few seasons we thought the dog was walking off. but after a few digs down to dead foxes it soon became obvious the dog had a knack for throttling them. he wwas a bayer. he just fenced with em waited his time then...bang. locked
i would never breed off a ten minute wonder allthough i could get use of a terrier like that. i'd prefare to borrow it than own it. i respect your idea's good hunting
A terrier that doesnt stay till it is dug with out being called out is a quitter ...a jacker ..a spewer ...it has walked of the job end off story ....there is no doubt some of they types have there uses ...There will be many lads that dont realise what differant types of terrier with all sorts of situations and uses is needed on a hunt
Del glad to see you have put your toys back in the pram when some lads dont agree with things you have written ..this would be a boring forum if we all thought the same
if you keep dogs to dig to i agree whole heartedly but if you keep terriers to bo
your dad probably used the terriers for bushing in. marking and nailing the odd bolter slipping the net. if thats what your looking for a terrier will be just the job. if you want the dog to catch a lot of rabbits. a small lurcher would fit the bill.

strange ive yet to see a terrier with a full tail take a bad injury to it. like i say its not an option up here but given choice i would dock as i like the traditional look and as has already been said i would rather see a full tail than a stump
i think your right mate. and Ozzy wwas the biggest heaviest vpup in the litter. some of the other pups where smaller racey looking.
be good to see other wheaten whippets. ive never seen or heard of any others. shame as they are handy enough

he looks a hell of a dog, what did you feed him as a pup to get him that size??
do you think there could of been greyhound on the whippet side thats come through to make him so big?
haggis and scots porridge oats
no choice up in gods country to be honest i prefer the traditional look of a docked terrier but wont make a sods difference to a dogs working abilities. i'll just have to get used to it i suppose
ive just bought one second hand for 200. and that was a bargain imo. maybe it woud be better to split it into two lots. great camera,s capable of real good pics idea starter camera
turned out a fine looking dog its good to see folk settled with a dog. do you keep in contact with the breeder. if so send my regards
not the best pic. its a pic off a photo.
good hunting.
