  1. you should,nt need them pal if it,s just you and your dog thats hardly helpful just my opinion pal no offence Ok non taken, Ive trained cockers to a high level, lurchers to a level that works for me and just want to propperly sort out a few issues that i have at the moment that i cant seem to rectify and there is only so much punishment that a dog can take without major injury, but a good zap from a collar should sort it
  2. you should,nt need them pal if it,s just you and your dog thats hardly helpful
  3. they are not native so would probably be classed the same as chinese water deer, (PEST) Or am i wrong
  4. thats 3 makes now and im guessing there isnt much difference but price
  5. how do they compare to the Pacdog stuff, anybody know
  6. I was wanting to know from anyone with experience on electric training collars which companies did the best one, i.e. variable power levels, battery life, waterproof, range of transmitter, etc, etc.
  7. it sounds like you have a couple of the good ones out of that type of breeding, made good height aswell, what weight are they and any pics
  8. You are asking for trouble kenneling 4 dogs together Honstly mate they are fantastic together, the only time i hear anything from them is when people are close to my back garden and they gaurd it or when a cat goes past. But there is always the fact that working dogs can be unpredictable with each other. they dont have any toys in the kennel to fight over and i watch them when it is feeding time
  9. Staffy,,,,,, Dont be mad! like has just been said, there are better bull types out there and i thought you would know that as you have been a member of this forum for nearly 2 years. I have a half x bull/grey which is first gen and a collie grey wippet they are kenneled together along with my two game terriers and there are no problems at all, the lurchers are dogs and the terriers are bitches, i guess it helps that they are always working as a team
  10. Right that does it for me, im selling my house and moving!
  11. Here is the same type of dog but in colour. Beardie collie, boarder collie, greyhound x wippet
  12. Not the best pic, I was told she is part BB breeding but other people have dismissed this. she is a year old now and very lightly built
  13. Well thats a cracker but when u consider conformation of breed, that dog looks like a patt/fell bred down through a predominently brown dog. after all how old is the breed of plummer because make no mistake it is no where near as useful as a pre ban staying dog. unless someone can show us a pre ban dug to plummer. At the end of the day it is personal preferance but a dog in my kennel must be able to earn its keep doing all the tasks of its job!
  14. They look nice and solid. what line are they?
  15. Lamping/shooting vixens at this time of year LEAVES CUBS TO STARVE,what dont you understand about that???????????? Well said, find the den with the cubs, shoot or run the vixen then coller up the black stuff and drop one down to them and use the shot gun for the humane dispatch. this is a professional way of doing things
  16. By the sound of it the dog just needs to get out for a mooch around holes and if it still doesnt do the job by 4 year old then dig it a hole! and get yourself a pup from working breeding. personally i have a 6 month old russell and she is on her lead all the time because she crys to get to ground
  17. i no what your saying webby but i only take him out the odd few times when yhe conditions are rightcant take him out in the day as i am in bed coz i work nights only get a chance on the weekend ok mate.
  18. Bellman and flint all the way! but i once located a terrier that had a mk3 ferret finder on it at 11 feet and it was spot on but no where near dureable
  19. My vet does mine for £8 per pup and you get a cert. i do them with the vet and 1/3 off the end of the tail with a pair of docking scissors and some silver nitrate. this gives a full palm width in length when the pup is fully grown. Generally for a vet to do the tails they will take payment first and add on the price of the chipping so you come back about 8 weeks later for the implant, this then makes it about £30 per pup.
  20. no offence fella but i live in the same area as you and its bad enough in winter with a major lack of quarry. in this area there is no need to be doing anything on the lamp unless it was a fox that is taking chucks. it should be learning its trade with that terrier you have got and working with it.
  21. Let the pup eat some sheep shi*e and she wont let it in the bed. lol
  22. Have you got the camera attached to the top of a pole and the lamp attached further down the pole. a good way to keep it steady is to wear a fishing rod butt rest around your waist and have the pole cut to the right size so the camera is at eye level, this might make the lamp too low for some but seen as you have to use a more open beam it wont make much difference. You should have the person slipping the dogs with a good spot lamp for quick finding just incase u lose the run or if the run goes a good distance away
  23. Their dog was not under control, end of story. They pay
  24. start in the middle of september through to the beginning of march unless there is a pest control job to do and in the case of a vixen, the cubs would be found before despatching the vixen. (all done with a gun) a 25.5" gun!
