tbh most where bolters just the location of some of the digs where bloody annoying around the 4ft mark. We had one as Para1 pushed the shovel through a rabbit bolted over the top of the shovel between his legs and into the long net followed by my superman dive to it. Was a good laugh today realy enjoyed it.

never two back netted, but today we where digging to a ferret. half way down we realised it was on the other end of a rabbit that was back netted, (we only done some of the holes due to having long nets up) lets just say Para1 was not to happy lol. other week we had one bolt in to a net so Al picked it up as i was putting a new net over the top one bolted in to that didnt even have the peg in yet basicaly it hit the net then caught in my hands.

Hi with regret i'm selling my bitch, i bought her when i was living in lyneham and had a large bit of permission so i could use her for the lamp. But soon after i got posted to surrey where no lack of trying have been unable to get any lamping ground. (i dont poach) i get out every weekend ferreting but thats on a friends permssion wich we dont lamp. She is wasted with me tbh she will make a cracking lamping dog very keen and the few times ive had her out literaly 3 times this season she headed down the beam and came back on the recall. I'm not gona lie i am selling her to get a whip

hey mate just some tips on all the questions you have asked lol ref laying up, in my oppinion both can kill under and some ferrets will bolt the rabbits so get your shovel and locator ready. alot of people prefer gills and if they lay up send a hob down to push them on and get more rabbits out then either wait for the hob or dig to him. Training wise ive never trained them but been lucky to get good workers already. my reading on the subject is to take them with older ferrets if possible if not put plenty of piping in your hutch/run with bits of titbits inthere to encourage them along

best thing mate, get out with people we are all willing to help each other, if i have something spare when i'm out i'm willing to give, vice versa para1 is a star i needed some new pegs for my nets (even though we always use his lol) and what do you know he gave me 20 last sunday thanks mate your a star. not just that, he gave me my first ferret oh and smithys lurcher gave me the two i am using now crackers aswell, none of this was asked for but from making some good friends from getting out with people we have come to help each other out when needed. Shame i just have nothing he wants

we got our germansheppard x collie from a rescue and was bloody annoying. the firs place we went to said we where no good as i was in the army and they didnt like the dog moving every few years, the next place we went to thought it would be great that the dog could travel all over the world lol. this was 7 years ago, we thought not long ago about getting another dog from a rescue but we where unsuitble, because we both work lol, they would not let us have the dog as it would be left alone during the day. (but one of us can always get home at lunch to let them out etc) they said that was un

had a look through all the parties sites last night and out of all of them the only one i could vote for would be the Conservative party. Labour well we know how well they have done. BNP well i had a look at there policies and tbh cant see how they can implement most of it. Lib dem well tbh couldnt find anything worth reading in there policies. Least with conservative we know what where getting. these are my own findings we all have our own ideas i aint no guru on politics only on what i read.

thanks for the replies, i'm far from lazy, i just want to make sure she will not be chasing his stock i dont want to loose this land, and as i only here for a two year posting i want to make sure i can get the most out of it. I'll give the lead training ago and see how we get on with that. How about a bit of both Do all the lead training but still have the collar so when i do release her properly and if all my training still fails i will have the back up. i dont think she wil bite but as with all dogs you never be 100% Thanks all

Now ive moved to wales (ish) my dog will be coming with me, i have got some ferreting and lamping permison up in wales through a work colleague but it has cattle all over, the dog is 16 months old now but tbh had no stock training as ive had no stock on my land. What method is best to break her in, i'm leading towards shock collar as i dont want to take a chance but i am open to other ideas. Many thanks Fraggs
