I knew loads of lads who used non-pedigree whippet types back in the late 1980's in the north-east,they were useful,they had to be or they wouldnt have been kept. -
There hasnt been a lurcher writer since who could match him for word-craft,granted his tales stretched the truth elastically but were very readable,he probably got more guys interested in the lurcher game than any other since.

Matt Hayes is on TV at the moment,he has fished solid for 3 days and caught.............a one pound pike he has just said theres only three or four lakes in the entire country that dont allow fish to be taken for food,the lakes and rivers are stripped bare,the same is happening here,I walked a stretch of the mole last weekend and found a "swim" where polish(lager cans and food packaging indicated their ethnicity)had been fishing,messy f*ckers,they could at least have taken their rubbish with them and not snapped branches off to make rod-rests

I have a mate,he holds maybe three and a half thousand birds,makes all his own cords,he isnt on the phone as theres no reception in the middle of the boonies,but next time I see him I will get his pattern and post it up,I know they cost him pennies to make.

Cocker,in the last 2 years coppers have been found guilty of murder,rape,pedophilia,grooming of minors,fraud,theft,assault,drug-dealing etc,massive amounts of criminals WITHIN the force,bunch of total hypocrites,your right though,an investigative reporter would have a field-day were he to get inside the force and report his findings its easier to point the finger at someone walking a dog(or in the coppers case microwaving several).
