I remember a newspaper or magazine report in the mid-late 1990's?A female child had been stillborn or died shortly after birth,dumped in a gutter in plain view of passersby,an old chinese man had covered her tiny body with a sheet of newspaper,a western guy had photographed the scene,left a lasting impression,lifes cheap in some corners of the world.

Few on this forum can appreciate such a force,I can,I have sort of inherited a relative,really nice guy,got shot in a robbery maybe 18 or 19 years back,got some decent scars,once he got out of hospital the first thing he did was deal with the guy who shot him,google Davao-death squad,I did a back-seat ride-along with them several times,saw salvage on waste ground,smelt it first,as you said this countrys cops have to have traceability and accountability,no room in a civilised society's police force for rogue cops or uniformed bully boys.

Dont know lab,shouldnt think so,what is interesting is in one of the most heavily surveilled parts of the capital there was no CCTV footage whatsoever of Tomlinsons incident.

Yeah,sorry Gnasher,that item was on the news as I was reading this,i know what your saying,just cant understand this particular plod being defended considering his past record,attempts to hide his ID during the G20,and his assault on Ian Tomlinson,lets just hope justice(however the coin lands)is served during the forthcoming trial.

Local copper woman's body was found sunday,her partner an Ex-defective(sorry,freudian slip....Detective)is currently being held for the crime.

What about train4trade skills?One of my mates actually had a rep visit his house last week,the guy/salesman was there for over an hour chatting to him and his son,the kids 18 and wants to do a spark course,Train4trade have offered him a "Full scope electrician QCF" course for just over 4k.

My views are jaundiced by bully-boy tactics and unfair treatment mate,I dont have a criminal record in this country,but I have still had bad dealings with plod here,though I have seen countries where they are allowed to get away with lots more and they take full advantage of the extra latitude.

Thats true,I have had bad dealings with the police,thats probably coloured my views against them.

But a number of them are not ONE step removed wilf,as the number of ex-coppers now serving time or sacked etc will testify,at the end of the day we cant give plod licence to mete out whatever form of justice they deem fit in a given situation,Harwood was as bad as the G20 rioters he was supposed to be policing,he disguised his identity and assaulted a guy in a particularly cowardly way.

I LOVE curry,I had one last night,the freezer is packed with them,nothing better than a decent indian meal in a nice restaurant,but its horses for courses,oddly enough I dont like chinese at all.

Thats inherited guilt,if thats the case the english owe me reparation for the highland clearances in the 1900's,inherited guilt is an outmoded concept. I always thought Roosevelts quote was about squaddies not coppers,nothing honourable about Harwoods actions,just another bully-boy in uniform going from his past record.

The IPCC recorded 92 deaths during or following police "Contact" in 2008/2009,thats almost 1 death a week involving guys like Harwood. (Edited as my dates and figures were wrong,thats the problem with reading an IPCC pdf-file while eating cheesecake and drinking coffee,apologies).
