i am new to lurchers i got my first a 10 month old wippet,collie,greyhound back in feb and theres a few things i need to find out because i dont have a tutor to find these things out from. right, the ground i run my lurcher on is extremely rocky as it used to be the site of a factory or something and theres bricks sticking out of the ground making the ground hard to run on my dog hurt his feet on the ground chasing a rabbit and because of that he missed it. He's yet to catch a rabbit. is there a way to harden his paws up.

Little and often with this type of command, keep showing the dog what you want. Plenty of fuss and reward when your dog dose it right. Do not be tempted to get frustrated with a lurcher and attempt to force train the dog, kindness all the way. My pup will just feck off into the corner if I shout at her and look at me like Im mad. Im sure theres a lot of very experienced lads on here that could give you much better advice than me. I started my dog with sit & stays and recall in the hallway of my house so that there was no distractions for the pup. And I always do sit & stay at fee
