  4. Hello, due to a change in circumstances I have to give away my 1 year old Colliexwhippet. Although I intended to use him for ferreting I heve had very little time this winter with my exams and as a result he has done only a bit of ferreting at the start of the season but I am convinced that with some more experience he could become a good ferreting dog. Pm me if you wan't to ask some questions.
  5. I would of thought niether because it was a gradual process of evolution that created the chicken. Dinosaurs were laying eggs well before the chicken was clucking and fish before dinosaurs, what came first the child or the adult?
  6. Got to agree with you there maltenby pratchett is number one. douglas, the guy who wrote the hitchikers guide to the galaxy is another favourite of mine.
  7. Found this while looking for a speech. Enjoy: Gentlemen of the Jury: The best friend a man has in the world may turn against him and become his enemy. His son or daughter that he has reared with loving care may prove ungrateful. Those who are nearest and dearest to us, those whom we trust with our happiness and our good name may become traitors to their faith. The money that a man has, he may lose. It flies away from him, perhaps when he needs it most. A man's reputation may be sacrificed in a moment of ill-considered action. The people who are prone to fall on their knees to do us honour
  8. Yeah, garden birds sounds like a good idea lloyd. Can't wait.
  9. I said colliexgrey as i have had to collie crosses and found them to be good ferreting dogs, but as I've no experience of other crosses I can't really claim they are the best but they would be best suited to your circumstances.
  10. Hello mate I am from widnes and if I can get hold of some permissionn in the near future you are welcome to tag along.
  11. Do you mean qualifications or security clearances etc. apart from what has already been mentioned no, I think the only problem you might have is getting a job on a shoot. Correct me if I am wrong but gamekeeping jobs are few and far between.
  12. Looks good fun. can you shoot over ferrets with an airrifle?

    Happy Birthday Magwitch
  16. Para1 speaking from experience are? Thiers a few on here that will disagree with your statements.
  17. You're confusing polecat coloured ferrets with actual wild polecats, I don't think there is any differences beetween Polecat, Albino and silver ferrets its all down to the ferret itself.
  18. Those towers look familiar, where abouts is the hunt. Just realised if the bolt is for Nottongham its nowhere near me.
  19. accidents like that are the reason why my brother and sisters aren't allowed near me when I am handling my gun. A young lad that came to buy a Staffy pup of us once was shot in the head by his mate with an airrifle when he was younger. Feel sorry for the young lad and his brother who must feel terrible for what happened.
  20. Thanks for your advice I may get the book by john darling next week and a kind member of this site has offerd me some dvds also. Trappsy I have bought a Cometa air rifle, it cost me 135 but with a scope, bag and a tin of pellets it came to 200 pound, I have been shooting targets in the yard and i am impreesed with it so far. I am confident with hitting a target at twenty paces so far but i will keep on practising till i get to 30 paces and so on.
  21. Hello, I have just bought a airgun and I am wondering what books are out thier that could provide me with a rough guide to shooting rabbits etc and looking after my gun. Any suggestions are welcome.
