Scotland has open access so you can camp any where with out the fear of being moved on mate, as long as you leave the place as you find it, its not a problem. Thats open country though not private owned land. The highlands and Islands of Scotland is well out of the way and some great scenery, mountains, fishing etc. I agree with Sean too though if you aint got permission its wise to leave the rifle at home, it is a fire arms charge if you get caught here without proper written permission.
  7. Me Dad all ways had a cage in the yard full of bunnies when they were big enough he just necked em an chucked em in the pot, no one ever said any thing to us about it! I think he would still be doing it if he didn't live in a flat
  8. Get one of them neoprene back supports mate, I would be lost without mine they really do help. Hope your better soon, nawt worse than a bad back, I know believe me. Great post too as usual too, you seem to make the misery a great read
  9. Would be nice to see what they are worth, let us know when/how you intend to sell them, I am interested all ready, don't think the wife would be so thrilled though hehe
  10. What a great find pal, wish I was there to have a browse through them and bring back some memories. See you in a month when you finished reading
  11. I used to do the vinegar drinking when I lived in holland, table spoon a day and seemed to work with mozzies, you have to keep at it though and soon get used to it, got told this by a dutch guy in the early 's, think it does turn ya sweat acidic so stops em coming near ya. Its the only thing I have tried that works. Rubbing lemon over yaself just makes ya sticky an horrible, rather get bitten than that one
  12. You normaly can tell a tick bite, they leave their head in if not removed proplerly, we have ahd a plague of them last few years due to mild winters. Maybe horse fly, or maybe a nasty flea could have been on some thing dodgy before it started eating you. Good idea to get it checked if ya going to doc's anyway. If you having stitches out are ya on medication ? That could combine with a bite and cause the reaction. Only guessing though mate I not a quack too but have had some weird and wonderful bites myself.
  13. Touching reading, very sad loss, ya couldn't have done more. Top blokes. R.I.P Captain

  15. The beak will regrow but it will take a while, if she has lost a lot of her top beak she wont be able to eat/drink I dont know what you would be able to do about that, if you really want to keep her see a vet or if she starts going down hill do the right thing and put her out of her misery. You can tell chickens are on their way out when they just sit in laying position and wont move when given a gentle shove, their feathers ruffled too. Hope this helps.
  16. Am an electrician by trade, design, build, install for specialist chemical companys, mainly contamination units for acid plants etc. Retired for the last seven years. Used to work for two european circuses when I was younger, I have an edge for being different :|

Only when I'm being chased !! I all ways said I was a better runner than a fighter, but if you see me fight you would see how shit I can run
  23. She was happily watching the chickens attack them, when the ducklings were trying to run to who ever they could for warmth, they are still very unsteady on thier legs, stumbling over, and if I didn't move them, they would have been picked off quite quickly by the carions crows and magpies My other ducks have been great mothers, very protective and shielding them well, but this mum was far too relaxed! I wouldn't have taken them if I thought they weren't in any danger. Ahhh right, I was just wondering. You did the right thing then good luck with them
  24. used to breed quail myself years ago, think its the humidity that delays hatching then you get splayed legs. Nice batch, makes me want to get some more now
  25. Wonder if its owt to do with hearing higher frequencies when your pre'teen? Bit like them mosqitoe things they use to disband crowds of kids! Never heard of hearing grass growing in ye head though, a new one to me, must be my age what does it sound like? Maybe the time I shot a fox hiding in a 12'x12' barn with a 12g ?? About three days I could hear that ringing in me head.
