  1. So you've run plenty then? And you've had dogs that you trained to run past the does and yearlings to catch up with the bucks leading the charge? Or you've ignored the herds that fallow were in and gone out searching for the solitary bucks or the young bucks that hang about in 2's and 3's? Or you need to have a strong coffee and wake up from your dreams? Which is it? I know what your saying its pure crazy , to drive 2/3 hours each way,2/3 times a week, ,then to drive around looking for at most 6 runs on bucks .ignoring hundreds sometimes of Does ,Then when you find a buck , clever f***

  5. I dont by into this ...its like saying unless youve caught a fallow buck in the rut you havent a fallow dog ?????????? and its not the case ......ive caught every deer apart from CWD and Sika in day single handed apart from the Reds but ive known dogs never run them in day and caught say over 3/4 seasons 600 deer at night id still call this a deer dog of the highest order !!....deer like hares are harder in day but like night they still run into fences ,still do crazy things ,id go as far as saying a night dog has more respect from me as going out 3/4 times a week ,week after week ,season a
  6. No digging on you at all matey but I have seen munty does with very well developed/ready to drop foetuses in early/ mid February which would mean that the foetus would have been pretty well developed in January surely? I've seen them with fauns in Jan and Feb, and also pregnant. does are pregnant again within weeks of a fawn being born, the gestation period is 8 months, so a doe nearly always has a suckler hidden somewhere close, they even have the ability to hold back fetus devleopment when times are hard Too much time on your hands

  8. yes i agree ,but i didnt mean it like that ,i meant theres lot more to a deerdog than just size .and with the dog learning the knack ive know a few like that and it can be over very quick then.
  9. You go on about size ,size and size ,i think techinque and minreals are far more important dont you ?you could have 4 x 100lbs dogs and not catch a red ,i known of a 100lb bull x and 60lb bull x stop a 350lb+ Red in the rut .Ive seen 100lb dogs bay at fallow bucks and a 55lb bitch plow straight in,I have a friend who before the ban had a bullx bitch 23tts that if you didnt find her in time would kill everyfallow buck she caught, also i knew of a coursing dog x bull bitch that was 24tts that pulled 18 out of the 20 fallow bucks she run ...techinque and minreals every time !!! ,everyone has diffe
