There are miners all over the world praying for these boys right now i'll bet, and not only people that have worked underground. This is a crisis on our own patch, lets hope other countries give us the offer of any support and assistance possible, just as this country always does in similar tradgic circumstances. They will come out alive, beleive in that. The rest is out of our hands. I wish there was something that I could do, but theres plenty there now of far more use and experience than i could be.

Just down the road from where I come from, private mines is all we have left of a once massive industry, worked in a few as a young fella, safety wasn't always at the top of the agenda by some of the owners. All speed and good luck to the rescuers, will be massive hole ripped in the hearts of one miners family when they finally manage to retreive and identify him. If there is a god, let him be there now for the families of the missing.

I would be more tempted to put the dog under a lamp, to keep the muscle warm and on a BIG pile of shredded paper or similar to take any weight off the shoulder. I wouldn't rub anything in to it personnally, as the dog will, being a dog, lick it off if he can access it, and , unless its stuff designed for that purpose, may well do the dog more harm than good. Heat will do a muscle injury good, but with a joint or broken bone, is more likel;y to intensify the inflamation . Like in humans, muscle strain, hot bath, ligament / tendon injury, bag of frozen peas out of the freezer, same principle. So

A member on here since yestetday at 10 o'clock and the first posts aren't selling dogs , perhaps the tide has turned, although given the choice between selling pups or winding up support for this lot at Dale farm, i'd have preferered the former. They have took the piss here and all over the country this merry band and all their "brothers" as you put it, little or no respect for other peoples property, f**k all respect for authority or the laws of the land, dont pay their way through taxes or paye, yet expect, no demand, to have all the benefits that all us dull fuckers who pay our way in

Amoxicillin isn't for pain relief it's a broad spectrum antibiotic. Metacam and Rimadyl are two good Nsaids, but I don't like to use them unless really necessary and not long term. The main problem is that it can lead to the dog doing more damage due to the pain relief and anti inflammatory action and a range of other side effects when used longer term( especially stomach upset with Metacam). So IMO they are great in the short term, just be aware that the dog may feel better and be more active, but this does not mean that the injury is still not there. Very valid point mate, its exa

I know he's a mod, but Simoman has got the sharpest, keenest, most sarcastic sense of humour I have encountered on here; he can take the piss out of you without you knowing its happening to you, makes me laugh all the time. I work shifts in a sawmill, Large firm apparently, mills all through the country, quite a few in Scotland, Scottish based. I wonder if theres anty other employees on here?? PM if you want. Like it ??, like having root canal work done without anaesthetic. But it pays the bills and theres f**k all else around these parts.

I think at one time mate, penicillin was about the only thing you could get your hands on, it was round here anyway, but there is better stuff available now, if you know where to get it, but generally speaking, I dont think you'll go far wrong with penicillin mate.

Nothing wrong with penicillin Rock, shit hot stuff, but if you alternate that with different sorts of antibiotics, it stays as effective as it was the first time you used it mate, as do the others. B

Normally use 250mg for terriers size dogs, 500mg for lurchers sized dogs, give or take.Hope it helps B
