  1. I take it you know little about KC/non peds? weight for weight a non ped should win a race/lure course. as for me expecting to win? grow up the replys on here explain why the organisers have no intentions of opening it up for lurchers/non peds. it's a shame so many posters choose to judge everyone by their own standards? anyone with a KC registered whippet that would be interested in running PM me
  2. Hi Scottish lurcher, i've been running lure coursing meetings for about 5 years now, as I have KC whippets we run them for KC whippets but often have dogs that are not KC but are of obvious whippet size ect. in the past I was asked to run lure coursing for lurchers and even advertised them on here, ........... and a few other site. we got a full 16 dog lurcher stake, unfortunatly I didnt have it prepaid and come the day, programme printed up ect and guess what! yep only 2 lurchers turned up both owned by the same person. So after that and a few simlar experiances i'm reluctant to
  3. Would you realy class it as a fair race? a pure bred KC whippet against a dog with greyhound in its ancesters?. You could always organise an event for the non peds?
  4. LOL At Selby Game fair 2 years ago whippets were turned away from the simulated coursing as we were all told that KC whippets wern't welcome? and thats after being invited down and even given passes to get track side by 1 of the organisers? SO WHAT WOULD YOU CALL THAT? only after a lot of complaining did we get to run but in the final a whippet was leading at the 3rd flag and the lure mysteriously slowed down the whippet stuck fell over and the lure was whisked away and the lurcher awared the course? NOW THATS SNOBBERY they obviously didnt want a whippet to win (it wasnt my whippet by the way)
  5. Because its to find the best pedigree lure coursing whippet not lurcher or non ped. OK Lady's & Gentlemen, i've just been rung by the powers that be at East Anglia, and i'm now in a possition to clarify a few issues. 1, Stake 1 & 3 are Open to NONE EAWCC members. 2, all whippets MUST be KC registered and MUST be under 20" (at the shoulder). 3, ALL entry forms MUST be requested from The Club Secretary. 4, ONLY DOGS ENTERED IN THE LURE COURSING STAKES OR FOR TRIALS TO BE TAKEN TO THE VENUE.

  12. Been there done that, we used to have a human treadmill that we boarded out for the dogs to use we bought a secondhand 6mph one for £199, it worked great but only 2 of my dogs would use it, another burnmt her pads as she refused to walk on it and a few otheres refused. i'd save your money and stick to rd walking them.

  14. We've just had a phone call from our vet who is treating a fawn whippet who was involved in a Road Traffic Accident yesterday in Rochdale (near Tescos). The whippet was taken in with a whippet collar on to be treated for it's injuries by the person who hit it. our vets scanned it but it's not chipped and hasnt any ID on it's collar so theyve rung me to ask if i'll ask if anyones lost a fawn whippet yesterday in or around Rochdale/Heywood/Middleton/Oldham. if not would anyone be interested in giving it a good home on the condition that should the owner come forward it would have to

  21. This is Cash on Collection only, i've had several e/mails asking about it being sent by post in return for a bankers order but due to the amount of Scams it's cash on collection as that way the buyer see's the quality of the pole as well.
  22. I agree, Dogs bred/trained specificly for racing are now getting better training than in the past due to racers taking it more serious than just an afternoon out on a Sunday, they put more work into their dogs both road walking & free running to build the differant types of muscules up and they are constantly trying differant foods to try and get the best out of their dogs.. I agree I would of expected yours to have been led and then to catch up towards the end as stamina kicked in but it just shows you can never tell. i've heard of a lot of the old coursing strains are now lo
