  1. Cheers buddy will do. Its looking really windy today tho, dont know whether to go out for a afternoon shoot now the rains just stopped as I find bunnies like that! Jack
  2. Paced the rabbit out to 41 meters. Also note the posh scope lens covers I got. This scopes so sweet I would be gutte dif scratched the lens, and alot of scope covers are really tacky in function and appearnce but these Hawke ones are really great and werent too costy! Jack
  3. Click pictures for larger size
  4. This is the direction I was facing- by this point the beast had been slain.
  5. Alright guys how is everyone? Just got through a few weeks of deadlines at Uni so came back home for the weekend. Went out Friday afternoon for a shoot but it was stupidly windy and there wasnt anything about really. So yesterday was a nice relief as it was really still, no wind whatsoever. Weatherman said it was going to piss it down in the evening so I thought I wouldnt risk it, and would go out that afternoon and evening also if it didnt rain haha! Punched some paper and went for a walk around and there was a few bunnies about but no opportunities came out of it apart from sendi
  6. Good read buddy, and shooting!
  7. Is there quite a difference between firing whilst leaning on bipod and free hand in terms of POI? Gas ram isnt it??? Good work Jack
  8. I've got a 300 BAR 3 Litre charging tank for sale, only been used for 2-3 charges and was totally filled for a tenner before that. Literally prestine condition £120 including deliverey price
  9. I actually find that more or less 100% of the time baby rabbits will do the dance of the dead even with a spot on brain shot. Its just what they do. Jack
  10. My HW95K is remarkably quiet these days, I think because its been run in so much. However the silencer on it is awesome and really makes adifference. Its very very loud without the silencer.
  11. My gunsmith told me a policemen cant touch you rifle, dont try to stop him, but make him aware you need to take his number. They simply wont touch it. They cant say 'That looks powerful' they have to have a better reason. Will be interested to hear further details of this story. Jack
  12. Awesome shooting fellas. Looks like alot of fun. Marksman can you tell me what rifle it is in the album you have linked in the second picture? All the best Jack
  13. Find a spot you dont usually hunt in, and practise hitting knots in the above branches, or when some has chipped away fire at that. Work out how much you need to alter depending on the angle, I intend to have a good practice on that when I get back. Jack
  14. I know people are suggesting that once you use quite a few different mags you need to know all the adjustments, thats true, and the thing is I know all the variances in mildots for 5-6-7-8 magnification believe it or not! However when using something like 4x at close range I am onyl using at one distance so the same aim point everytime. Jack
  15. Yeh thats why I started this topic I thought we would have so real differences. I just feel when I look down a scope at 10x at less than 30 meters that you scope is really trying to look through your target if you know what I mean? I will have a fiddle with them when I go back. Jack
  16. Interesting mate thanks for feedback. Jack
  17. Alright guys, I'm back at Uni for a few weeks at least so wont be hunting for a bit until I have all these major deadlines out the way. I shot almost everyday over easter so I got my worth! Anyway my topic today is regarding magnification. What do you guys use and at what distance? In what position e.g standing/prone, does it vary? I bet there is alot of variation. I always presumed even on a fairly good scope that over zoom (e.g over 8x at 25-30 metres) would just be innacurate, or would lose its point of impact. After getting my new scope Hawke Varmint II 3-12x44AO which is a re
  18. Good stuff mate. I had a similar thing a few weeks ago, however for ages it was really subtle making me think I was losing any skill I once had! Fired hundreds maybe even a thousand pellets in anger before I found what was happening!! All the best Jack
  19. The one thing I noticed about thee HW97KT is the safety you have to reach around to turn off as the thumbhole prevents you swiping it with your thumb, only bad point about it and even then its not much hassle! Jack
  20. No they fit fairly tight, just for some reason remember them being loose (accupels). Obviously remember wrong or something. RWS Superdomes just are really accurate, pretty cheap, consistent and hardy in their manafacture. I started out with them and now am back to them so see how I get on. Jack
  21. Cheers buddy. I noticed I said that when I listened to it back, what I meant was decoying down with lots of spinners etc like the shotgunners do (not being totally clued up on shotgun culls doesnt help but I just used wrong word). I dont think chucking out grain in a field would really be much of a hopeful way of hunting pigeons anyway hehe. Yeh I thought they were accupels but just more robust or something, I seem to remember accupels being quite loose in my breech? Crossmans have a wider head or are they exactly the same? Thanks for feedback. Jack
  22. The large ones are in Hook Norton.
  23. Tried having a glance at Google earth to answer that mate and I'm not sure I'm afraid. Lots of tracks about. The woods we used to play about in when we were younger had the huge viaducts which trains used to run accross, mad to think its all just gone now. Pic to follow... These beauties are where we used to play etc (still do from time to time heheheh ) They look like Mayan temples or something now left as ruins. Jack
  24. Looking downrange onto target holder/pellet catcher. The videos explain the rest really, sorry about the quality and length but just gives you an idea of what I was trying to do. At the right time of day this track could be really great for taking out feathered quarry, I got there at around 1pm of a hot day so not ideal but it was meant to be just a zero that I followed on from. Hope the videos not too boring as there was no kill to round it all off!!! All the best Jack
  25. Im' struggling to work out how to do multiple pictures in one post, open pictures for larger, better view. Will find out for next time! Back to the shoot - So the superdomes were working out great getting some really tiny groupings with them and took my zeroing stuff back to the car and to get the pigeon decoy and telescopic pole I was going to have a mess about with. This is where I was zeroing from -
