  3. been out for a mooch with my mate tonight on the same land around 4.30 saw one ,why so many in one spot?and at the same time ?i suppose its what they are feeding on at the time, or are they still sociable animals this time of year?atbBB

  5. went lamping tonight ,ran a few rabbits missed them all lol,walked into a cut silage field,lamp on feck me a rough guess there must have been 13 or so hares all sat in there,its only a 3acre field ,i thought the sheep had got out there were so many sets of eyes,the dogs eyes nearly popped out,mine too ,they soon scattered tho in all directions.seen 3,4,s before but not this many,best thing about it i havent seen many in the daytime,whats the most you ve seen at night in one spot atb BB

  8. i agree in what you are saying ll i feed my racing whippet pup babymilk for his breakie , and chicken wings for dinner with alpha racer for dinner trying to get as much calcium down him as poss,a good friend ,darren young told me bone makes bone so this is why i feed the wings raw .but the friend whos had racing whips for 50 yrs starts his pups off on 33% alpha racer then 27% when 6mths old never had a dog break its leg so who knows ,keep ya ideas coming atbBB
  9. MY 12WEEK OLD WHIPPET PUP GETS BABYMILK FOR BREKKIE FOLLOWED BY A RAW CHICKING WING SMASHED WITH A HAMMER 1ST,ANOTHER WING FOR DINNER AND SOME ALPHA RACER FOR TEA LOOKS WELL ON IT TOO.   10. just been reading a post on the runningdog section about a dog whos leg just snapped playing in the garden, only 8mths old ,a few weeks back at whippet racing a dog snapped its leg while racing ,a mate of mine had a 4mth old whippet snap its back leg it was only playing in the garden.but another mate at racing said he never had a dog break its leg and hes had 20 odd dogs in 50yrs ,is it because these dogs have a inborn fault ,or a lack of something in there food or whatever else?atb BB

  13. update on my pup,used the benzyl on him hair was back within 2 weeks worked a treat thanks all,took him to vets for 1st jabs ,vet said how well he looks,told him my past problem, whoops he didnt like what i used ,worked did nt it said i .he was proberly gutted that i never spent £200 on skin scrapes with him ,just a tip lads get ya benzyl quick as its all being took off the shelfs to the public atb BB

  15. i would go for a whippet or a 3/4whippet x1/4bull ,you might find with a beddy x whip that it would be in the bush with the terriers at the same time with no dog out waiting for the bolters ,seen it happen too atb BB
  16. thanks all for the replies ,justin my dad always gave babymilk up untill 6mths,when he raced 30yrs ago ,by then a racing whippet has reached its full height he said, i suppose lactol is the modern day stuff, and he never had a dog break a leg atbBB
  17. shot this hare yesterday my saluki/ghd x whippet did a nice retrieve,anyway ive got anew pup zac and wondered what he would make of it ,i gutted the hare and let pup have a chase round the garden,well as soon as he tasted blood he was in there like a goodun,chomping on the flesh cut him a srtip off the leg and gave him the heart went mad for it,so its his first hare lol. zac is a non ped whippet out of vivsquest x kirby shay whos out of the great dog kirby he is ten weeks old just got him right now picked him up at 5 weeks what a mess covered in shit ,fleas and wormed up ,had to rescue him as

  20. hi all got a new pup its a racing whippet that i intend to work also hes 7 weeks old went to look at him at 5weeks saw mother top breeding but what a state fleaed up anyway ive hadhim 2weeks now i had to rescue him ,he s on good grub and babymilk to try to boost him up wormed him defleaed him wha t a mess poor bugger ,he is scatching alot still to a point he losing his fur and deveoping small sores on the skin he also has some type of dandruff flaky skin in his fur ,some one said it could be a reaction to the milk as i was giving him evaporated milk too to fatten him up which i have stopped no
  21. interesting i was always let to believe take them off ,from the rag whippet world ,but i got talking to a top saluki man paul saegars noticing his salukis still had theres he said he always leaves them on and i think he said the arabs do too. i suppose if your pup still has them if they become a problem they can be taken off by a vet,but alot less hassel to do them at 3/4days old, so on or off? is still the question
