  1. Yes in the pictures and wild. Many have escaped throughout the years, and some have been captured again. There is no exact figure acording to the duke when I last spoke to him. Deer from other countires have escaped too and are in this area, It's just spotting them. Have some of the PD's managed a break out Artic? Never seen one in the wild before. Good pics. Yes JD, and in July 2010 I saw three in different locations at different times all within 4 miles of the Abbey. As for breeding, I cannot answer that. Who knows........... Are you sure they were PD'
  2. RFYL, I think Artic and me are being very civil, not bickering, just a bit of harmless difference of opinion. Artic, just spent twenty minutes on the old 'dog and bone' with my mate. We had a good laugh. happy Hunting...JD RFYL................ JD, funny that I was too................anyway get him to call me. Your a man of the wild, arm yourself with your camera, camp out, you might get lucky.
  3. This is a fasinating thread. JD, I've not mentioned how many deer keepers/safari keepers within the location. I said I know them all. Like I said, PM me with this info your getting. It's interesting. Also that location is not the only place to keep these types of deer. There are a few places not too far away that have a nice number. As you know there are silly people reading this, and certain info is best kept away from these places. We're not talking run of the mill deer, and it would be nasty for some prat to go and attempt a stupid thing! Although I like to see them try! Oh

  5. Very true and it does. What ever the reason for his silence, (I hope he is well), there's no excuse to leave customers In Wait. Surely, and if this was me, I would of asked someone who I can trust to call all the cutomers who are awaiting products and inform them of the/a situation. Lack of communictaion can scar a business, and like SS has mentioned, other traders who rely with online trading. Word of mouth................
  6. English light sussex are, and lay a nice large egg and often. Ixworths are a great meat bird, and taste lovely, just don't tell this day and age breeders that you want them to eat, they will not sell you them. Yes poultry keeping has gone soft in the head! There's Indian game too, heavy birds, good meat on them. I have Light sussex and cull at 12 to 16 weeks. Anything over 5 months I've found too tough in the teeth. You say your new to keeping poultry, when the time comes make sure you know how to dispatch your birds quickly causing no unnecessary stress to the birds. Good l
  7. The trouble with dog and fox tattoos (espeacially lurcher heads) is getting an ink artist who has done lots, and I mean lots. Otherwise they just don't look right, and there's artists who will attempt anything on the virgin flesh! Just look at some of the bird tattoos and you'll know what I mean man! Now that first tattoo is a very good example of how it should be done. John, I'm not dissing your tattoo, a clearer picture is needed, but I get the drift!

People seem to think that it was just Muntjac and Water deer that escaped, far from it and there are some good deer at large out there. Lived here a long time..........
  14. Calm down JD...................No I haven't a clue........
  15. A long while ago deer where top of the list, I've seen many dogs thrown around like kites, kicked off and spun like skittles, pencil necked dogs with lack of power, dog's with no speed or sense of gear change.......... Living in an area where deer are fruitful is a challenge in itself, so is excercising a running dog in such an area, there are dangers of the unexpected, extra eyes and ears are needed. Now this was a surprise, very scary in fact to see them.
  16. Ciao Santoni! Where about in Italy are you? This dog works in Sicily, same ground too. You would of thought a little more coat is needed there but no. Good solid feet too.

    goats galore

A lovely read Jigsaw. What round do these goats get? What's the legal requirement regarding shooting them?
  18. I don't like posting in these type of threads, but I have to agree with you on this one. I have many gay friends, both male and female, and today a few have commented how this Radio 1 DJ was silly going to another country trying to change their ways. In my opinion this DJ has just ruined his career. He tackled the situation in a bad way, he was oppressive, didn't show and sensitivity to their culture and beliefs, tried to use bully boy tactics to get an answer from them, to make them look bad...... Never liked the bloke as a DJ, he is a fake, and a child. I like the fact he didn't g

  21. Hello NWH. Do you own a lurcher/dog? If not then there are many books on the market to choose from, like The House Lurcher, to Extreame Lurcher Work! I would recommend a book called Running Dog Maintenance, very good advice on treating your present/future dog for all the bumps, knocks, strains, bites, and cuts that it will take in it's working life, and not to mention feeding etc........ It's a good read full of interesting goodies! There's plenty of SENSIBLE advice within this site, you just need to sieve through it all. Take your time and do lots of research. Don't be afraid t
