dickyboy replied to scottish lurcher's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
i'd stick with the air rifle you have for shooting round barns etc and get a .22 rim for the fields! -

anyone asking for permission should state age, area, whether they drive, what they want to do etc give a cv! And as for gaining permission for people who have little....don't ask for it, ask to help out or go beating, don't talk about what your dog kills illegally, be hlpful and ask to be taught, whether you know it or not, it is there ground be humble all i did 3 years ago was ask for a job with a keeper, he said they wouldn't pay me but i could help for free so i did! i did as was asked, i was punctual and polite, 6 months later i was allowed to stalk some rabbits 0n a small bit o

collar making money making idea for someone with the know
dickyboy replied to dickyboy's topic in General Talk
I figure a cheap leather collar is about £5-£6 and theres profit in that and its about £6 for a tag so If someone made them to order for say £10 i would want one!!! and theres a bit of cash for someone...thought maybe strongstuff or someone, someone who does a bit of making!! -
As it says i've come up with an idea for making some dough but can't do it myself so i'm gonna chuck it on out there for someone...might not be any good but I like working my dog in a leather collar as i'm sure alot of others do! Now during the day i have a normal collar with a dangly tag that jingles fine for walks and round the park, almost helps cos i know where he is but not so good for mooching/lamping as all the rabbits know where i am so on with the leather collar but problem no contact details. Now twice in the last week hes followed hot scent so i want contact details on the co

yep def no lack of drive here!! boy does he go! although for killing any wounded foxes of mine i think bollocks would have helped bring him on for the kill....he is just starting to get it by himself so didn't really mature in his second year but starting to get there now but to be able to walk through a crowded beach or park knowing he won't start the fight but will finish anything started is a great comfort.....at least i'm not to blame!!!

i just put a bit about this on the thread about neutering but my dog did this one week after his first birthday......he is a very dominant dog and up untill this time he always ran away but upon this time he suddenly found his feet and went for any male dog puppy to 4 year old and a 15stone rotweiler!!!....he is a very powerful dog and threw a couple of cockers around for little reason other than they had a drink out of a bowl he once drank from, 2 people got bitten in the frenzy that ensued! i could not put up with it so i had him done soon after, he would tear across a field to have a fi

So lampinglurcher and DS what about mine........had my male done at just a year for reasons threefold, and having him done has cured or should prevent the outcomes that were inevitable 1 He had a retained testicle therefore breeding not viable as it is hereditory and can cause cancer, i don't want that so i do what i can to prevent it 2 he was a fighter , no male dog could look at him for more than a second with out him flying at it, made working and exercising him hard work(ask paid off here, he saw what he was like) 3 he liked to persue bitches he never even met a bitch in heat but he

The problem with this site is that you don't know who your replying too.....now i'm in surrey and do all my own lamping 0n a 5000acre estate, i shoot roughly 5 foxes a week from the same 300 acres if that and sometime go round the other bits.....i have a mate who comes out but doesn't know much or have a dog etc and can sometimes be a drag but once i knew someone local they could come out with me most nights of the week if they were trustworthy and good as i have far too much to handle myself!! but you never know on these sites if you'll invite trouble to your doorstep

Hi, i don't normally post on here as i'm more of a lurcher and shooting man but my friend, on here as Gelert, is a full on terrier man........he has a job in france which involves a fair bit of digging! He has a few of his own dogs but has used some of the frenches dogs and reckons there not up to the work....so he really wants some dogs/bitches/pups(i'm not sure) off Mr Nuttal himself. How can he get in contact with him? If you need any references as to credability Marco, paid, whippet lady, Mattj or mattyg or something have all met me or him and should know us to not be idiots.. Any

I use a T* and is great but there is a new one from the whole shooting match whose credentials are much better no ringing after shot and can be taken off and cleaned rebuilt and put back on without losing zero......check it out at www.thewholeshootingmatch.co.uk definately worth a look!

i went for the ruger 10/22 as it is infinately customisable!! but for accuracy CZ or anschutz............i think anschutz are the very best but come with a big price tag!!

by day a moocher but once hes on the chase then stick to it, i've got shit loads of rabbits so its a must but why run over a catch if theres an easy one as theres so many rabbits he tends to ignore them for everything else

try feeding him in his crate and when playing with him sometimes play in the crate then hopefully they think of the crate as a good thing. don't always go otu when you put him in his crate just stick him in for 5 mins while you watch tv, build up the time slowly never let him out within 5secs of him crying and extend this slowly......letting him out while whining makes him think if he whines he gets let out....you need to teach him that if he whines he waits another 5secs!! hope some of this works for you a combination of these has never let me down but each dog was different

i've known of them o chew off ears when in close quarters and can't move about out in a fiels anything a couple of months old would send a fox flyiny but when very young then is possible but never heard of it
