  1. LOL thanks snoop for putting me right and i'm not surprised the rain has darkened it with that roofing job LOL just pulling your leg LOL tj, kennels looking good well done
  2. whats that a wood floor on the runs?
  3. you'll have to tell me where to find these judges that like saluki types LOL as all the one i see like the almost pure greyhound or whippet types.
  4. because most of the judges are show people to, or feel like they have to pick well known people or dogs.
  5. we had the same happen Monday night. mates dog on its last run of the night, ran one into some woods and needed six stitches. Good to see you putting pictures up even if it is of some bad luck.
  6. it don't mater if its dogs cat or ferrets it all the same, If your going to breed read up about it first, ask people who know a bit about breeding and who year after year have and breed good workers. This is the pedigree of one of my dogs going by what some say he should have two heads and god knows how many legs LOL http://pawvillage.com/pedigree/pedigree.asp?ID=I6ZA4V5AYV
  7. its amazing the amount of people breeding who know nothing at all about breeding and how it all works. very sad
  8. looking good mate, looks like some of the first crosses i've had.
  9. now if i go on to quote i can copy your smiles  I've had and bred 1/8, 1/4 , 1/2 bred collies and would have them again if i had room, but i would rather have something with saluki in.
  10. that was not a dig at his dogs, as you know mark my computer is knackered with that many viruses that i cant use a lot of the things like smiles or look at peoples old posts est.
  11. 1200mtrs is not far, cant look at your post to see what you do with your dogs so are they for showing/ racing if so they should be just the jobe for it.
  12. what is it you trying to breed in? cant see any advantage of putting whippet in. Mark put a 1/4 bred collie to his W/G type bitch and did not lose any speed. As for stamina you can only get out whats in the dog and with a almost pure sighthound of that breeding thats not much
  13. I could not believe how many there was on here last time saying they were going to vote labour last time, should be chucked off.
  14. well , there's a little bit of a strange one, im , going to breed , my dogs similarly to your breed , i must be doing something right , as your dogs seem to be really good specimens , i'll be happy if they turn out as good as yours , mark , but im very happy with what iv'e got just now yours are the same as marks black bitch but with out any whippet, both 1/8 collie the breeding your doing will leave you with what may as well be a whippet greyhound.
  15. ? why not just put a 3/4 G 1/4 collie to your bitch or are you after whippet size dogs? and you will spend a lot of time at the vets having your dogs stitched up.
  16. I think all this hiding does more harm than anything the antis could do. take fishing who would look twice at some-one pulling a fish out of the see or river, why because its normal to everyone as they see it all the time, first hand or on the TV. What we should be doing is making hunting an everyday thing not hiding it as if theres something wrong with it. JMO And the fox looked dead to me in the picture.
  17. as dickyboy says see a few different crosses run, if you get something about 24-25 then if you lose interest in hunting say rabbits and want to hunt something else it will have the size and hopeful the go to run other stuff. Stay clear of terrier and collie first crosses as they can be hard work for first time owners 3/4 greyhound 1/4 collie crosses can be good first time dogs as the can take most things.
  18. your never to old to learn?thats wat i have been told but i aint saying yor rong pal. but every time i use pure saluk bitch to greahound dog.i get feverd caspa its easy to put papers on a saluki looking lurcher pup and has been done many times with some lines, and puts hundreds on the price of a pup.
  19. yep theres many saluki x greyhounds for sale in the CW but their never first crosses, like first cross deerhounds their rare.
  20. deerhounds have a wire coat which is dominant over smooth and a first cross saluki x greyhound will always be smooth. Think there is three coat types if i remember right, long, smooth and wired.
  21. we've all had dogs kill out of the lamp but i don't want that all the time you'll just end up with a dog that hunts on or a dead or injured dog , one more in the bags not worth it, unless your talking land that divvied by sheep netting. JMO
  22. agree with you whin you don't want them jumping everything at night, better if they jump when told unless its day time and on the back of something.
