  1. I don't agree, if your just after a dog that can run a few bolting rabbits, and thats if the dog happens to be standing next the right hole at the time then yes any dog will do. There are dogs that chase a few bolters and then there are ferreting dogs, they are not the same.
  2. didn't think there was one last year. I have 06
  3. been trying to find the fastest time for a pure bred anyone know?
  4. whats that on the flat or down hill ? the one i was saying about was on the flat . Paddy whats that trotting race on the road they have over in Ireland in April, going to go to that one year.
  5. the first collie cross i had was only a 1/4 greyhound but had no trouble catching as she would be at the right hole waiting for the bolt. She would not only mark rabbits to ground but also the ferret on its kill, work cover find the ferret if it came out in cover as well as a lot more. The one in my pictures would also mark, mark kills, work the nets, follow the ferret as it worked the set i never had him working cover as i lost one dog down a mine shaft from doing that. Most of the fields are 1 to 3 acres around here and he was 25-26 and had no trouble catching bolting rabbits. if he didn't t
  6. I've seen the Sire to my filly doing 35 mph ( not all the way) in a race and hes a pure bred been told chip and pin doing over that but who knows :-). what i thinks more important is what they can cruise at with some left for the end,.but i'm no expert.
  7. I never drive or ride a horse close to the hedge i stay right out in the road or you get silly twats who don't slow down thinking they can get past on narrow lanes or if its a wide road with oncoming traffic they still try getting past. As soon as i can ill pull over and let them pass as its only manners. I always try and leave plenty of shit on the road next to you mark so it gets all over that nice clean 4x4 of yours, gives you some thing to do cleaning it as you don't work now LOL ;-)))))))))))))))))))
  8. its going to be better if you do bring them out of season, but back when i first had ferrets i rarely bred off any of the jills and they lived a very long time.
  9. if you ever see the real deal ferreting dog you will know theres more to it than just standing next to the holes and running what comes out, the only ones that i've seen that are class have all been collie types.
  10. shes got a lot of colour on the body, black and white trotter, sunny driving her, she was racing a pacer in the heats was leading but ran out of steam towards the end, think she won the open race on the main road tho. 06year If i had mark on I wouldn't let him off LOL

  12. if you have king of the road DVD or i think its called Cornish road racing DVD shes on both.
  13. Cornwall but if you were interested and hes wiling to sell something could be sorted. The only thing is the mare was never signed over as he wanted it for the road but the stallion is.
  14. mate of mine had disco for a bit, she could go.
  15. No mate shes only had one race and won, against a 4 year old she was two at the time. My mate has done the same breeding again don't know if he will sell it after its born, ill ask if you like, its due next month the mare is a Swedish trotter.
  16. they start pure breds early and then turn them away if their going to be raced as two year olds on the track. a lot of the road ones are knackered after a few years, as some drive them to hard when their young. Don't know if its true but heard chip and pin got sold for big money not long ago.
  17. evenly marked he is a beauty? what is the horse in the pic shes a full bred and a pacer. bred of a full bred pacer x full bred trotter and a lot slimmer now she's back working
  18. is it well marked on both sides? what % white and red?
  19. get a good 1/4 collie 3/4greyhound or maybe a collie greyhound with a bit of whippet as long as it dont show in the coat, feet est. Collie crosses make the best ferreting dogs there is.
  20. got any pictures of both sides of it ? what is it a colt or filly and how big is it now?
  21. why do you think just because some one doesn't agree with some one it because of jealousy.
  22. LOL that was funny would loved to have been there :-)))))))))
  23. I think people are sick of replying to the puppy peddlers. put sooty sam in search. Martin you say pedigrees are faster than the cross bred ones LOL then why would any one go to the trouble of crossing them why don't pedigrees dogs rule at the no pedigree races? whats the most rabbits you've had with your super-dogs martin?
  24. []your not talking about them shows that were put on when they still travelled around by horse and cart are you? LOL ;-))))))))))))
