  1. SO , what about the stopping days. Would you say it requires a lot ? He is likely another who cannot get his hands on this great family of dogs. For various reasons !nah you can keep them, only the dogs are any good and I don't want dogs from 2nd rate fox bitches.. have you ever seen good digging terriers produced from good hunt bitches?
  2. Yes and Tadworth too not just RA. There's lads that CLAIM to have it. It shows youv read the book. 95% of Pelenna valley is not in the hills by the way.but still hunt hill foxes though depending on meets! so goes to show hill foxes are no different to here in the shires, been up with the llanwrthwl A true hill pack and seen Russells account for the mighty welsh hill foxes, and they've been doing it for years me lad.. and how many Russells at a time wer used
  3. without any bother you sure talkywacker?
  4. There's a fine line between a good hill fox and some shitty little scavenger living in a hedge. As iv said... most of the time they're alot more straight to get when you stumble upon them in an earth as to when hounds have run him hard and he's gone in.a good fox is a good fox! Wether in the shires or on the hill..would you say its a tougher life for a fox on the hill rather than one on the shires wher food is in plenty plenty fallen stock on the hills To keep them going! Obviously it's a harder life.. there is very little to no stock on the hills after November this might be why they trave

  7. Explain please ? And just to add my two cents worth to an argument that could go on forever. The best terriers IMO are and always have been in the hands of those who hunt for sport. i ment im sure lees mates that dig for pest contol wouldnt keep a little yapper that wouldnt stay for hours on end but a hunt terrier man in the fells ect would ps neil we all know you wouldn't want to start an argument
  8. pest control dogs and hunt dogs are a world apart lee
  9. If some dogs don't like working any of the above then they shouldn't be a Terriermans dogs......thats what you would strive for but how many people have kennels full of dogs doing it all?Every terrier man I know or they wouldn't be in their kennels I'm as green as grass mate but some of the lads I've dug with are out 4 or 5 days a week and a terrier that won't work to a high standard isn't worth the feed they give it.dont know about the USA but here in England there are earth dogs and lap dogs and a terrier man doesn't want a lap dog how many hunt terrier men have you seen work their dogs bu

  11. was always told a terrier mans yard should be like a bag of tools a dog for different jobs some dogs dont like working stones some dont like hay stacks some wont push in wet drains when your with hounds you need all and more of the above to be covered welsh foxes on the hill are a cut above the rest Im sure ns kept what he had for a reason to please himself and to do what he wanted with them work seems the guy is a bit like marmite you either love him or hate him
  12. shorts and t shirts do me for summer hunting
  13. And they all go back to the wolf.Would you use a wolf to breed to your terriers ? Like a lot of things in life. Someone must come up with the originals but things usually get better when improved by those who want better. id rather a wolf than some the shit thats about lol
  14. lightweight thin waterproof jacket as cheap as it comes as the cover wrecks them as for the keys i never carry them with the dogs the thought of searching for them in cover or backfill chills me
  15. keep what makes you happy and dig the the amount you want to dig they aren't machines they are animals just like us good and bad in all to many people worry about what others have in their yards and over look what they have or are doing
  16. Halfpenny is a fantastic goal kicker if it came down to a tight game and points was needed id rather him to step up to take points than bigger farrel and sexton as he has more of a long range advantage Hartley wont be missed hes taken far better hookers than him i feel for the Scottish i expected more to go than just 2
