Yeah but your getting on a bit now Fatman, when I was your age I was just about able for that kind of digging. I dont dig,i just carry the shovel and graft and give orders, then when i see the shovel come flying out of the dig instead of dirt i know its time to shut up,lol,Eamon really gets pissed when i start telling him how to dig. Jesus I thought only I done that, one of my sons is 35 and digging with me since he was a child,he does the boars now in Oz,when he is home I still tell him how to do it.LOL -

I have done a good bit of digging in Cork down the years, and I have just come to the conclusion that the clever Cork boys are bringing me to all the hard spots(shame on ye boys).I NEVER got it easy in the Republic of Cork, unless they are keeping the handy ones for themselves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol! the cute cork huirs arent simple no doubt!! there a couple of cork boys commin up here the last few weekends and they are able to shift a bit of clay in fairness! i dont know would i want to dig 14 meters in a day realistically, i think id lie in that morning if i knew that going w -

That an Irish thing Neil. It's an Irish thing Liam but sadly it's nearly a thing of the past. Sad days, you cannot go on the tear anymore and drive full of pints, with the dogs looking out the back window.

Have manners and start your own thread.

He did not ask anybody's opinion on God or religion,he simply asked people who so wished to say a prayer for the safety of people and property. If you want to debate religion get your thesis together and start your own thread, and stop hijacking somebody else s.

I had my own worrys last year with my son,I am not religious, but when your back is to the wall everything helps.Hope ye all keep safe Liam.

There were mad times for sure Danny, tell him Tom C is still hale and hearty as is Frank C and family, we often have a laugh about when the lads used to come down,we kept a lot of strong dogs then.Them dogs were over and back over the border more than the diesel smugglers.
-
Tell him I said he must getting soft in his old age, send him down here, myself and FC will get the old crew out Zimmer frames and all,and if he gets busted we will bail him out like before. LOL

Is the owld lad still sticking a spade in the ground Danny?

ive been out a few dozen times with a staff cross and he could work top notch but he was not dog aggressive at all unless told to he was very obidient and great temperament and was called snowy lololol. But was very game Staffs have a quieter temperament.
-
They were not a toe the line dog,toe the line dogs were for cissys.LOL Wheaten men savored there dogs temperament it was part of the dog, same as staff men did. Most were hairy arsed country men who could not toe the line themselves.
-
Back in the day you could not even tie them near a human being, bar him and the dog were on first name terms with each other LOL.How many lads heard the saying years ago, mind that fellow,or dont go to close to him.I once remember one getting loose and getting in at bonhams,he thoroughly enjoyed himself.

Nice looking dogs Mick C,do they do a bit?

I admire what you are trying to do with the Airdale(if it is not for money)BUT if it is not,how could you even contemplate using a dog that is not working, but from working lines? It is hard enough to breed good stock from PROVEN parents, but to breed from unproven stock just because they come from workers is lunacy!!!! -

I was been slightly sarcastic when I said one or two,I have been mixed up in game dogs all my life and have giving my opinions on numerous threads on THL about them,so I think I know a small bit about game Wheatens.I have always had a very open mind about learning from the experiences of others. Why in your opinion(and by your own admission) do your dogs deserve to be called PURE GAME.In the times we live in now the words pure game gets thrown around like snuff at a wake.I have never heard a good dog man call his own dogs pure game(they were far to modest)that honor was left to other to bestow -

Never came on a stock broken wheaten in my life, and I seen one or two. -
I heard the foxes are soft up your way Stopend.

That picture does not show the dog in a good light.LOL

Out of curiosity where on earth do you get a good black dog for a fraction of the price find it near impossible to get a well bred pup I have been lucky and never had to buy dogs, but if i wanted one of these German dogs I would not consider 800 to much money. If good black dogs are that plentiful(they are not)why are people looking for working dogs on here all the time? There is a lot more shit black dogs than good ones.If I wanted an outcross i would have no hesitation putting a good Jadg into a line of blacks or Lakeland. Lakieman, same as liam i have never had to buy a terrier and hop
