Surface to air has been off for nearly 3 years since winning the Summer National as a 7yo and was hugely progressive until then. Made a comeback hurdling reappearance at Market Rasen in March and Tom Messenger was pretty easy on him. He travelled well but weakened and not asked for anything except to plug on to raise fitness. Its impossible to say that he's back to his best. You know what they say "They never come back". However, it wasn't just one injury that kept him out. Looks like they just try and offer huge charity donations to these poor countries to try and look good and cover up their own problems. It's as if the U.K is trying to keep up the the U.S, Russia, France, China and the other bigger stronger countries it once matched when if fact it's a complete shambles. Great to see though.

I've just flicked through the thread and noticed none of the site bums/layabouts have anything to say on this matter. I've alot of friends who have had to leave Ireland to go to Austrailia, the U.K and America to find work and as far as i cant gather if your willing to work theres plenty to be done. All you hear with these lads is excuse after excuse.

Wasn't Churchill I'm afraid.. Nearly 100% sure it was Oscar Wilde but it was definatly one of the Irish poets. Whichever Irish poet that said it was definatly the original person to say it, Churchill may have said it later on.

I love the amount of people that think they are actually carrying out "pest control". I know some people genuinely do but i reckon 3/4 of the people on here just say it to feel important and justify hunting all year round. Each to there own i suppose.

Wouldn't take them too seriously because most of them haven't a jot and their dogs are more than likely useless. Hares may slow down in the summer but their dogs will be shite all year round.

I suppose it's hard to say and numbers will differ from places to place. But I can imagine finding hares here would be harder than on the big land in the U.K but maybe I'm wrong. I know every day I go out I'll more see a hare but i could go to places where i could see up to 7-8 in an hour or two but then I usually go out and get one or two runs and I'm happy enough to go home. But one thing is for sure there are plenty of hares around.
