  1. dont ususally mix business with pleasure on sites, but felt i wanted to promote them! I have had 2 large trekkers and a lens trekker for 10 years now. They are used commercially on a daily basis going all over the world to inhospitable places not to mention the worst the uk can throw at them. i can get three D2x bodies and 3 lenses as well as all my clobber in one of them. cant rate them highly enough. i looked at some of their new smaller models when i was at Focus (NEC) last week and there was one called a flipside 300 I think that would do for just taking a small amount of kit but with a 2
  2. wow mate, what a fantastic gesture!!! only prob being im a long way away from you, id imagine it would cost a packet to post? why not make one, their dead easy to make....even as a girly i can make one!
  3. there will be the full countryfair/show issue of countrymans weekly out, i think, next week.
  4. has anyone bought hatching eggs off ebay? Ive put in a bid for some quail eggs as i cant seem to get them locally anymore. Just wondered if anyones had any success with them?
  5. we have the perfect one. its an old shoe box with a small hole about an inch diameter cut in one end. Put the lamping light inside, put the lid on, switch off the lights and hold the egg against the hole. Perfect, costs nothing and works a treat.
  6. does anyone use trackers/telemetry for their hunting dogs? I have seen it quite a lot in USA and believe im one of the few to do it in UK. However im currently using falconry telemetry (it seems to work) but wondered if anyones tried the dog specific systems and collars? would be interested to know what any thinks and if they work ok in UK.
  7. ok if shes pure deerhound....were both parents shunt tested??? very important.

  10. part and parcel of what richie??? global warming?? weve been ferreting for over 30 years and used to reckon on never seeing a milky doe from september to april. part & parcel of ferreting... reading your first post, by saying "you were mortified to find several litters of babies " the impression i got that you were upset ? thats why i replied by saying part & parcel. a lot of ferreters decide to stop when they see young. i personally dont see any difference in dispatching a youngen or an adult. all the farmers i do rabbit control for expect me to remove as many rabbits

  12. its got to be better than that AWFUL gamefair that they oput on in exeter last summer. that was dire.
  13. anyone else go ferreting this weekend and discover rabbit babies?? we were mortified to find several litters of babies about 4 weeks old. Its madness, this is February for gods sake.
  14. does anyone know what sort/colour car he drives these days. could have sworn I saw him earlier and we are way out of his usual patch

  16. Does anyone ever feed venison to their birds?
  17. I have a double set I am willing to let go, which I think may suit. They're the real deal, not the mickey mouse types you get these days. PM me and I will send you pictures. I have problems getting photos on here. bump
  18. ok thanks, it was more a rough idea rather than individual rivers that i needed....but approx march to september is good enough thanks.
  19. i have tried several and have found that jahti jaht are the best so far in terms of durability, lightness, warmth and comfort. Plus russtle free fror stalking.
  20. can anyone tell me the legal salmon and trout season please?
  21. well like I say....write and tell em, its the only way to get what you want.
  22. hi i can certainly tell you about insurance......i have been with most companies over 30 or so years and for the last 10 I have stayed with Pet Plan and can say they are excellent. They have paid out every single time without fuss and promptly. They continue to cover the same illness over the dogs lifetima and not just stop after 12 months of claims like most others and of course they also cover you for other things such as 3rd party liability which IMO is essential in these litigious times as for breeding from a known fitter and carrier, well that is truly appalling and they want locking
  23. show pony??? ive never seen anything in it that relates to a show pony if you all feel that its going away from the CW you used to enjoy then its vital you contact the editor Dave Venner and tell him what you want....afterall folk who have been loyal supporters for years are the back bone of such a publication. Certainly over the last 10 years or so the production quality and overall presentation standards have risen considerably since it was produced on what looked like toilet paper for years! Now its full colour and in a different league.
  24. In fact, might I even go as far as to say I don't honestly believe I've ever kept a " Pedigree " Dog? Oh! Whoops! Yes; I did once buy a " Pedigree Papered Border Terrier " pup. Over priced and worthless piece of shit that that turned out to be. It went to a pet home pretty damn sharp, I can tell ye! But then, it was itself a " Rare " blue and tan Dog. Bet the couple who took it are to this day immeasurably proud of how their Dog looks. And the scrap of paper which probably added about £350 to it's price ticket, which they gladly paid. hate to be the bearer of bad news but blue
