I like your thinking but it never works like that. If it can snag and hang up. It will. I was in a boozer in Falmouth and there was a presentation case of naval knots on the wall. There must have been almost a hundred examples of fiddly and frustrating knots. All done out of a white parachord. Someone had skill to put the lot together. Now if I had an ornate bell that I had spend time pissing over and smearing brown sauce on. I would prefer something a little fancier for the " bell rope"! Than a bit of tired old bailing twine.

To my knowledge a bell rope is used for a peel of bells not hung of the clapper. The ropes that hang of the clapper are usually tied in fancy knots such as a monkey fist or a hangmans knot, or braided such as an end splice. Willing to be proved wrong though. TC I tried to google it and search earlier to do just that I soon lost interest. I'm sure I can sleep at night lanyard will do for me. However. If you were to show how exactly a monkey fist is tied or some of the other fancy nautical knots. I'm interested. http://www.animatedknots.com/monkeysfist/ Now if you were to put a

Come on this is Walshie. It would take another two topics and 87 replys before we even got to that.

Clean off the crap with a solvent. Your nail varnish remover will do. Piss on a towel and then wrap it around and leave it for a few days. Keep pissing on the towel regularly to keep it damp. Remove the towel and admire the results
  8. Goldfish at the fair??Done a bit of Bass fishing in Heysham. Morcambe. you mean the tiny little schoolies from the outflows? They don't count! Lol Nowt wrong with them schoolies Ant. And I lost many a ledger by them outflows
  9. I'm looking forward to it Eddie. I've resided myself to the thought that it's going to be messy. It will be an experience with good mates. None the less.
  10. So if you could get a stainless trap cheaper than a standard trap you'd go with the standard? Come on Moxy, surely SS is better? If it's cheaper and 5% smaller than FP traps and will certainly last longer than them, I can't see an argument?? No argument here. The way I currently see things is that stainless traps are an overpriced gymic. The wires will weaken and ultimately lead to scrap traps. They could be made from titanium. It won't make one iota of difference. However. Poor quality is no excuse and Cost is always a factor...... I'm listening
  11. That's poor JD. It just seems to me that stainless traps = cash cow.
  12. And that would be my opinion too. I like the concept but as I've said many times as have others. I can't see how you benefit from the added expense. All this talk of stainless!! Stainless will rot (certainly not as fast as steel) but all will Depend on the grade of stainless used to manufacture the traps. There's no way I can see they are going to use a high grade. Not saying it can't be done and they won't but the price difference will be...!!? Well..! Noticeable But let's not confuse the trap body from the wire work. As echoed in the above comment. Once the spring has gone!
  13. It will get sorted mate.
  14. Customer service far weighs competitiveness Fourteenacres is excellent.
  15. "Capabilities" !! Im only as good as the next man. I'm not a witch doctor. I don't practice black magic and I don't pretend. I have to catch "whatever method practicable" to pay the bills and feed my kids. As I'm sure many others do the same. I've made my bed. If the trap your using ain't catching. Then there's a problem. 9/10 times!! Feck!! I'd be changing my name from mole control to....................??
  16. Earth thrower. Give over man. I see the talpex as a last resort trap. Foolproof if you like. Last resort as the big gunner of the arsenal. Get a trap shy mole. A plugger. A digger arounder. A cost you more visits than neededer!! Then the swine gets a talpex thrown in. Job done. They are a very handy trap. Indeed. Why not use them all the time if they are that good?
  17. Cheers that's good to know. Fookin eye opener. Recently sold something for over £500. Far from happy when I got the bill for the fees!! What terriblebay users were doing was hiking the price on the postage to save the fees. They have cottoned on to that and are now charging the full percentage on the postage. Outrageous To be fair. I would think of a price and stick it on gumtree
