I stayed on the isle of sheppey for a few weeks.very interesting place lol.

A quarry I was in for a few years uses to have about 50 of them every year. They were left to it on the quarry face. But we couldn't leave a straight face on any large stock pile of sand. As they would try and make nests in the straight face. If there was a slight angle on the face they wouldn't touch it.

thanks for painting that picture mate.i find it hard and reading that cant believe its been allowed to become what it has. i can see now why gnasher and wilf post such strong post's. but not having seen it with my own eyes it hard to get my head around it. what the feck can be done to stop it or eliminate it. thats 1 massive problem.

i think they called him the rupert ken.

someone said a story on here years ago.when the miners strike was on a local lad in the village netted a large trout lake and knocked on every door in the village and handed over a decent sized trout.and considering folk had zero income or money i bet that single fish was really appreciated. that's allway's stuck in my mind for some reason....
