go out when you can,at this time of year if a dog fox is hunting for two[vixen with cubs] then you have more chance of a sighting.if your land is new to you get out and cover every inch find out where the rabbits are and other likely sources of food for charly.these will be the best places for a sighting.try baiting an area up with dead rabbits and at a distance with the wind in your favour wait.and the method most use is the lamp. good luck

as jager says.the canadien govt.says its soldiers dont kill or use the word kill.so the bronze star given to non u.s.a. combatants was put on hold to the two teams of snipers that were helping us. forces. the same corporal who shot the enemy sniper at over 2400mts actually killed a enemy sniper in a tree at 1700mts with one shot and didnt use a range finder .the scopes they were using are the nightforce 5.5x22nxs they ran out of elevation for the long shot and used his spotter to guide him to the target it took 3 shots but got his intended. wouldnt you think the enemy would get out of there

IAN. the main reason for that amount of the grey rats is there is 3 release pens in the wood and about 25 feeders as well as the keeper hand feeds the rides every other day.the day we shot the big bag we counted between us about 550 shots all with shotguns.alot of the shots were to blow the dreys out we didnt use poles which would have been better but a lot of the dreys were in high beech and ash trees.

ok jager but some folks may take advice the wrong way if youve done it then fair play to you,i wouldnt but thats my choice.

had 6 in once but they were 4young ones and the adults the most squirells weve shot in oine day to 3 teams of 4 guns was 242 in a 110 acre wood on a shoot i do the fox job on.that was in2002 since then the wood has been shot at the end of the game season and the numbers have dropped to around 60- every year.still good fun.

by buggered do you mean it wont fire or its just worn?buy some cheap ammo and shoot it to see what it will do,if its a no go get it rebarreled or buy new youll enjoy shooting the hornet.17 hmr is a good round but you can load for the hornet cheaper than buying ammo for the 17hmr. good luck with your choice

went out wed night to bash a few bunnies with a mate as always the 17rem tagged along.we were only 40 yds from the farm front door when with the first sweep of a small grass field we spot charles walking back up the field towards us,put the rifle on the sticks let him wander to about 80yds then pop!the little 20vmax smacks him in the chest right in the boiler room.went to pick him up and its an oldish dog about 3-4yrs old with a cracking coat on him [its a pity there aint a market for fox fur in this country anymore]. any way we do the rounds of the land bagging a few bunnies my mate has a ti

KEITH. a 35 v max with powders in the burn rate of H110/H4198/H4227 and probably vihtn120 will give you velocitys around 2800-3100fps depending on which powder you use. at the other end of the scale a 55vmax or similar bullet should yield 2200- 2600 fps again depending on which powder this aint too bad considering the tiny amount of powder your burning. i wont post any actual loads because the ones i have are for a gun my mate had a few years ago.there are a few folk on this site that can supply some data or you can google RELOADERS NEST .COM they have loads for a vast array of calibres. by

agree on the andre g whistle there irish used mine last nnight to call in a fox thet wasnt intrested in a hand squeek it ran in from about 300 yds nailed at yds with the trusty 17 rem trying to post a picture of another one we got last night, the wam caller is good but id vote for the AG fox shot night vision sell them.

Appreciated, very nice scope, appart from the weakness bit. However to shoot at a stone wall at 50m to find where your hitting initially then go onto a paper target with a back stop it don't make any sense, or does it?????? I stand by my convictions and would be certain amongst fellow riflemen that i could hold my head high. Would you admit to your convictions? rich;the wall in question is about 8ft high and 30yds long, when testing any powder/bullet /scope combo you cannot say where the first shot will go putting up a target board to find out well yes i agree its the tested way BUT f

RICH. HAWKE? no nightforce as in nxs 5.5-22x56. i test ammo/powder combos this way to get fast results.as for asking for votes that shows weakness in your convictions.any way you do things your way ill do em my way.

well said mark you cant beat experience for reloading i will help any one who wants to learn the basics to get em up and running.

SELL YOUR GUNS! GO ON A LONG HOLIDAY,JACK YOUR JOB IN.GIVE ALL YOUR MONEY TO CHARITY. no dont do that! just have a break for a week away from anything shooting related.you will get your desire back and your mind can be re-focused.if that doesnt work do all of the above! :D

Have you not thought about a nice piece of wood with a few targets on and a set of binos? With perhaps a nice grassy knol behind it. Whats behind this stone wall? Seems mighty dodgy to me, mind i aint no expert on balistics etc but i has a guess at some point those balistics might bite ya in the arse shootin at walls. Tin hats for everybody RICH.as your qoute suggests a nice piece of wood?what happens to the projectile as it passes through the wood?well unless you have a back stop like a big oak tree i think it will carry on maybe not in one piece but it will.i use a target board in f

posting this here and further down the postings i suspect we may have a misfit amongst us! all this guy does is wind everyone up i pulled him up about shooting shotguns last week, this website is for topical discussion and the sharing of knowledge between like minded folk with the odd pi** take which is taken in good spirit.we dont need a numpty upsetting the natives.
