The lesser is native mate, mealie migrates to us and is about twice the sise of a lesser, don't know what a common is but I would think it's a lesser. P1

Just the one cock bird will feed the hen on and off the nest.Start with egg food to get the birds used to it.They normally take 14 days. Good luck. P1

The hen has chosen her mate and will only mate with him.Some hens will sit tight after first egg some will sit after 3rd egg(normaly 4 or 5 eggs).Just leave them to it Moll.In 14 days egg food,soaked seed and greens will give the chicks a better chance of survival. P1

No doubt no matter what anyone says you are going to try it.Good luck. I tried it when I was younger and it was great fun,when rabbiting the ferret gets a rabbit in a dead end the ferret has the upper hand ,trap a rat the same way the rat will get the upper hand and more than one rat attack from different directions at the same time.For all those that believe a rat only breeds at a certain time of year they do All Year. I stopped rating with ferrets when my little jill got her eye riped out she had to be pts. P1
