  8. heres most recent pic,any racier and might as well have a pure greyhound.
  9. got a small square lamp with a protective cover and built in, on switch and cigar lighter plug for £2 from a charity shop and had it with a burglar alarm battery in a old 58 webbing army pouch.still got the light in the shed.also had a american style light years ago. that had a element instead of a bulb, pretty bright but i was worried i wouldnt get spares so flogged it.

  13. wasnt it the poacher, the thread shouldnt be too far back.
  14. i had to go to the first page to reread the question, what is the point of crossing patterdales with staffs.in dorset when my grandad was alive the country village pub he used, the old time locals talked of small staffs or fighting dogs as they were called being used as draw dogs at end of fox and badger digs.they crossed too improve gameness and head quality in the terriers.it was to be honest also used if they wanted pups and didnt have or afford a stud terrier this is mainly jrs,or mixed breed terriers. where i live now there was a dog like poachers old terrier 3 yrs ago. first x jr/staff
  15. hi,hairybull does the ridgeback still get teamed up with the staghounds out there?.or has it fell out of favour.
  16. recalls ok called her off a deer last week.retrieving sucks as mother in law died a while back and it was hard to find the time to walk her let alone train her but things are better now and hopefully will pick up.
  17. as its not working yet didnt want to put these in roe & rabbit.
  18. as shes not working seemed pointless putting these in roe & rabbit thread.
  19. Have you any pics? I was always intreged with this litter, havent seen any recent photos of them. been a bit hetic, and forgot the camera when went for this evenings walk.will try tomorrow.
  20. when you decide the time is right to have a lurcher if theres any germanshepherd x greyhound litters it may pay to check them out.i got mine from heart of wales on here, and it looks like the racier one out of the litter.and though mine hasnt caught anything yet.they are only about 7/8months old and i want to hold her back.she has shown a lot of interest in the deer ,and there is a lot of deer here munty & fallow,[never seen a roe so dont know if there here].only the other day she was on the heels of a deer vanishing into the scrub, luckily she is good on recall.and came back when i shoute
  21. ERM......muntys dont have a rutting season matey..... didnt know cheers , it was a male running in circles on a road with its nose in air and as it was fallow rutting time assumed the same.see females around the same place off & on.seen munty in field nr chepstow by the coleford turning in broad daylight.and theres plenty of big fallow around here, the pup from heart of wales breeding put one up in a thicket only 4 nights ago.luckily shes good on the recall.
  22. always see a few just down the road in rutting season.
  23. what was the one before it called sporting dog weekly?i used to buy it every friday lunchtime when at school.maybe where i was younger but it seemed more interesting than cmw today.i would like to see new interesting articles, not something reworded from last year or 2 years ago.i like the ray charles ones even though i dont stalk.and when they do overseas hunting/shooting they can be interesting ,i dont want to see an article on barf feeding or about lurchers coat or feet every time i pick one up.
