  1. This is where it gets tricky as IMO a dog that bites the "ass" is a coward.. If they wont go head to head w/ the bull it is not confident IMO.. I lived where cattle ranching is a every day thing and have seen many dogs work cattle and this is just my thoughts... Plus when I talk Borders I am not talking soft sheep dogs I am talking "COW DOGS" used to bring in free range cattle(even then you need a BMC most of the time).. Now this may be what you are looking for a more sneeky dog I dont know that is why I asked, we use most lurcher types for yote and a ass biter will get culled quick.. Aga
  2. Heart of wales, here's a pic or three of the dam not long before she pupped.
  3. Good one dev,i see she getting a helping hand getting cleaned up,very neat little dogs.
  4. Oyama is the man responcible for breeding this bitch, all credit to him and his breeding working plummer terriers from fully tested stock.A humble man but he should be proud of what folks have said about his bred dog,i am to own one.
  5. Shooting ferrel pigeons for my ferrets in a large field, shot one the flock flew about 50 yrds and settled again.I loaded up the gun and as long as i hid by my leg the pigeons would stay on the ground long enough for me to get close enough for another shot.I stubbed the barrel in the dirt by accident and was breaking the gun to clean out the dirt when i stubbed my foot and pulled the trigger, well i had my little finger over the barrel end and shot it.the pellet didn't go all the way through and i couldn't prize it out so i had to go to the local hospital. The lady behind the desk asked me what i
  6. I had an old jrt who hated men in hats even me,would go mental at them.Have a acd bitch staying with me at the moment and she attacks the lawn mower or the hoover and even tried jumping up to get at the blender the other day when i was preparing her pups food.Saw a collie attack a running chainsaw once and a terrier latch onto a car wheel and get took off down the road, seen dogs go mad at hot air baloons as well.
  7. No flatcap hasn't said anything this time, but it's still early days eh.
  8. Just seen your question mate and a good one it is at that, the acd bitch which is dam to this litter isn't mine i've just been looking after her for a few months now.The owner was thinking about using her to produce a lurcher litter as he had heard a little about them,he asked on here if anyone had had experience of this cross. All repsoncess were of the positive and the people who had worked them were more than impressed with what the x can be capable of,the dam was coming out mooching about and was showing good hunting skills,a good nose and a willingness to hit cover, getting in there with the

  10. Grand looking dogs those,if this litter turns out like them i will be well chuffed mate.Good biddable strong looking dogs caperble of a day out in the hills those dogs are and real crackers from where i'm sat. Thanks for the pics and excited for whats to come from my lot.
  11. They've had nothing but mothers milk and minced flesh, beef, rabbit, lamb, liver, heart and a phesant the other day minced up and mixed together, add i little warm water to soften it up a little and to warm it,3 times a day.
  12. The acd x greyhound pups at 5 weeks old today. weighed them for worming today and smallest is 3 3/4 kilo's biggest 4 1/2 kilo's,little fat feckers .
  13. I know the bit of film you are on about and have also seen it on a anti site before,i think it was anti's filming it and the terrier was called out as they couldn't do what they wanted to with it whist the anti's were there.
  14. Thanks folks for the positive reply's,there's a few plummers out there doing it,more than most think .I've had a few little digs with her before Proudy,1/2 grown cub jobs and to tell you the truth she was very hard with them,i was hoping a full adult would make her hang back a bit and not mix it so much,it didn't .Still very pleased with her and she did take a bit but stuck to it,Thanks Keeps and it's all down to us educating the masses with what we know and they doubt :11: :11: .
  15. Nice one chaps, she was to ground for just over an hour and i did know the earths we were trying so i was confident in not using a locator, the fact is i had left the box on my kitchen side and would have taken up to much time to drive all the way back home to get it.But like i said we knew the earths we were trying, this bitch was worker to worker bred and is a credit to her breeder,he sometimes does a piece in the cmw with his plummers and ferrets.
  16. Had a dig with my Plummer bitch today, tried a couple of places and struck lucky on the second earth, not after falling flat on my face in gorse before hand though .She shot to ground and went to work, bit to close for her own good and when i broke through had a grip.I lifted her out and dispached the fox letting a mates bull x draw it out afterwards ,my bitch had bitten through her own lip and it took some to get it back off although she wasn't bothered by it whilst she had work to do.left the buggering camera at home so only a eod pic off a phone and a pic of her tonite at home looking a bit
  17. The acd is a very deseptive dog to look at,faster than they look and very agile indeed. It's funny how teething changes a dog ears and how they stand,be a funny looking dog if a acd had floppy ears though. Thanks for the pics Wild Rover although they are making me wish the next year away mate when mine will be out there, still plenty to do with it in the mean time. What sort of field trials is the dog pup doing?,don't know what trials are all about to be honest, never been a gun dog type chap or know about the gun dog world. Is it dummies or retrieving shot game and hows he doing?,as i expect you ne
  18. It certainly ain't all down to what you put into the dog,i've put loads of work and more patients than a lot of folk on here and mine ain't got what it takes to take a rabbit off a hedge, pull ups well before he reaches it.He's 2 in less than a month and can't ever see him sorting it any other way, even does it in day time i've seen him watch countless of things at the bottom of ditches, just in hedges and he will just watch them.Good nose on him and good hunting up but thats no good when he just wont hit them in cover.Best of luck to you if yours works for you.
  19. Well here's what happened to me last week,i have been looking after a acd bitch for a pal and she has a litter of pups on her,she has been fine with my ferrets and although very keen with my chickens has never really bothered them.I went outside to lock her in for the night to find one of my stags standing by my back door,i grabed a tourch and had a shine about the garden only to see a few more chickens lying around the said garden. In my chicken run was my white jill ferret getting stuck into my cockrel who was well done in allready,I grabed her up and found a rather dog sized hole in the side
  20. Just found these mate some chunk to her up against her brother but he's no weaklin either, without being rude to the owner of the dog i can see why you picked her.One thing that gets me in all these x's is the strentgh and straightness of the front legs with a cover busting chest, just love that look they all have of bring it on i'll deal with it.Did they have floppy ears when they were pups that turn up later, say when they teethed?,ours have normal if not a bit houndy ears.Do you know how he's getting on at all mate? and sorry for the hundred questions.
  21. Frosting up here tonite and i'm out early with the ferrets and terriers tomorrow, see whats been about.Fit and well looking 9 year old dog that mate.
  22. Its the last of the line, bred local by two lads who had first crosses, he's nearly 9, there were some acd crosses with bull added to them but not my cup of tea, a bitch is local but infused with bull. the pup is acdxgrey/whip from wales. Don't say that mate, don't know what the future may bring for him unless he's been snipped?.Proven working x that mate and a good addition to any lurcher line. Why did someone want to add bull to a x like that?,ruined a good cross if you ask me,not needed in this cross as far as i can see.I'm swaying towards that dog pup now, bold as brass he is and aint a
  23. Well said skycat, why do you want to get cheep horrid full of crap food for your dogs, would you live on junk food alone and expect to preform at your best?.I feed all my dogs on butchers offcuts with rabbits added now and again and it's all free bar a bit of diesel picking it up,less poo to clean up and the poo is allways solid not mushy like procced crap fed dogs.less chance of anal gland trouble as well.It may be easier to feed complete(lol!)dry food but don't be lazy and give your dogs meat, dogs have eaten it for 1000's of years and have a digestive system designed to deal with it not the ch
  24. What are the long cage things to the side of you mate, are they those cage traps you use when ferreting that there was a write up about in the cmw a while back?.
  25. Just found these pics and what a grand looking pup your dog was mate, turned out just fine as well.Love the two dogs pic and if mine turns out anything like them i will be a very happy chappy.
